That colour is the final colour. I Wanted to go away from just black to lighten up the lower engine bay. No need for bright colors as the engine bay is already pretty bright.

Pic from Kembla Grange
The drop tank has been removed so that a surge tank can be built around the current pump, with another smaller pump feeding the tank. This is to stop it sucking air when going around right hand corners with <40litres of fuel.
The engine is just about ready to come out just need to remove some more wiring, tail shaft and bonnet.
.
Some other work on the new motor,
Trial fitted the modified VS fuel rails with the 60lb injectors
Went through the wiring the other night and nutted out most of it, roughed it in on the engine.
SO much Air Con and auto trans shit that is not needed lol

I used a BA falcon fuel pump setup. The falcon pump has screw holes in the top where the commodore (VY) has a recessed locking system. They have a small factory swirl pot and would meet your needs. I just recessed the top using a 10mm plate, and tapped the holes accordingly to fit it in. The other thing is it is quiet.
I wish I took photo's during the build and before I installed it.
Cheers

Mark, was this similar to what you used?
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/FORD-FAIRLANE-FALCON-LTD-BA-BF-6CYL-V8-FUEL-PUMP-ASSY-/200567327220?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2eb2be89f4
Are you using the BA pump to feed the fuel rail?
Can you explain further how it works/ your setup?
Another shot from a while ago
Thanks mate

There are three outlets.
Fuel out
Fuel return and
Breather.
LS1s have a single line to the fuel rail and bleeds off either at or after the fuel filter. I used GF822 AC Delco filter/pressure regulator as it was already setup prior to this fuel pump update.
However, the Falcon setup has a pressure regulator that is the same as the LS1 and could have done this conversion using a standard commodore fuel filter setup but it more time and more fittings. (Just check what specs a Supercharged V6 regulator is as I couldnt it on the net). You may need to run an external fuel pressure regulator.
Get some quick fittings to connect the fuel lines and I get the electrical plug from a wreck.
To make a seal I went to Clark rubber and bought a piece of fuel resistant rubber /neoprene and a tube of sealant. Tried the Ford original seal and it leaked.
Hope this helps

So did you mount the above pump setup vertically?
Whats the purpose of the plastic thing surrounding the pump lol?
Does it have to sit on the bottom?
Your suggesting removing my current pump and only using the BA pump on its own?

This setup would definitely be better than my current setup but I think it is still easier to modify my current setup by fitting a lift pump, pumping into my current swirl pot. I just have to block holes drilled in swirl pot so that fuel is retained.
Also Im considering running E85 fuel and I don't think a BA XR6 pump will be able to deliver the fuel required.

Andy thats a great photo of the pump setup.
Also these pump setups can be squashed down from about 9" to 6" from memory. My tank was 8"-8.5" deep where it sat in the recess for clearance of the outlet connections.

When pushed down to the minimum height it was (240 mm/9.5") and needed 40 mm clearance above the pump.
My tank is only 160 mm deep.

Yesterday I fitted the 600x300x76 (3" ends) front mount. I was very tight but just fitted, within 2mm lol.
Had to modify some of the grill, but this will be hidden when the chrome bumper is re fitted.
The bonnet catch setup was also modified.
Thanks Glen for alot on info on the best inter cooler setup
