That sounds sweet as, can't wait to hear it cruising, especially at 6000.

Don't forget to record that.

OK guards, nose cone and bonnet on!
With out needing modification. Posted Image

There is about ~8mm clearance above the pulley which is the closest point.

Just have to modify the bonnet latch so that the manual release finger doesn't foul on the inter-cooler.

Spoke to the engineer he wants a noise and emissions test, will ring my mate from the exhaust shop and get the noise test done and see where its sitting.

Getting close.

So basically it is on the road now! 9 months after purchasing the engine.

Took it for a drive last night, just a dab up up to 1/2 throttle and straight away up to 5psi on the gauge. Need to take it easy until its run in :)

Looks SCHMICKO!

Most people wouldnt even notice the intercooler, very stealthy (black would be stealthier haha)

I think we will need a chrissy cruise this year to see what everyone has been up to!

Sorry been a bit lazy and pretty busy lately.

So the car is finally engineering and registered with the new motor, after a stuff around as they brought in new engineering laws.

I have done about a 750km on the motor and im stoked. Did an oil change at 500km.

Cars been going well. Have fitted the the 3.45 gears (were 3.9) and lokka centre. Happy with the outcome the 3.45 gears are much more useable and are quieter than the old set. The lokka is great and puts the car sideways with a stab of the throttle mid corner. The ticking noise isn't too bad. Only downside i am finding when going around sharp corners roundabouts or hair pins on steep sections when one wheel is spinning heaps faster than the other. If i have it still in gear and just coasting around, the car develops a harmonic, bunny hop. As soon as i get on the throttle its fine or with the clutch in its fine.

Any ideas??

I have just returned from a trip out to bathurst car went well and was averaging a bit over 10l/100 by my rough calcs.
Was out there for the motor festival. Caught up with Rob Shaw and met another member off here who was racing his VZ clubby.
Had a great time and rob got some awesome footage with my new go pro camera.

Looking good!

With the Lokka in the tight corners, you should find that you can either decelerate or accelerate (doesn't need to be by much, but you can't coast in between) throughout the entire corner until pointing straight again and you won't have any hassles, but anywhere in between and it will lock up. You can switch from off the power to on by slipping the clutch (sometimes you can get it just right without if you're really quick) but generally I try to avoid doing this in tight corners.

So of you may of heard but I was getting the car tuned(on road) on Saturday and after the 5th run while downshifting back to 2nd heard a bad noise, which continued once I pulled over. Decided to shut it down and get it car tralied home.

The car was performing great during the tune and wasn't knocking or loosing fuel all the way to 6400rpm. The tuner put a fair amount more timing in and was very happy with the performance so far.

So yesterday and today worked on pulling the motor out suspected the worse as I noticed the oil pressure dropped to 20psi for a short amount of time when I was loading and unloading in 2nd gear.

Luckily I have dodged a bullet. The issue was the flywheel bolts had worked loose and a dowel had came out.

Still have to look into the oil pressure issue, but pretty happy atm.

Bit of damage on crank and flywheel but should clean up ok.

Thinking of wiring the bolts together to stop the chance of them coming loose also thinking about using spring washers.

Going to take the sump off and have a good look inside.

Cheers

Hey I can't tell if that is stuffed or not, but sorry to see that happen. Hope you don't have to pull the engine right down. I really like what you've done with this car.

I don't know what the factory V6 flywheel bolts look like but most flywheel bolts have a flange or oversize head.

I would see what ARP has to offer.

I'd be pulling the crank to check for other damage, that looks like it copped a fair whacking.

I dont know if your flywheel will seat properly on such a munted surface? was there anything special about the crank? or just a standard job?

might be worth relpacing just to be sure.
