Yeah heath they are very handly, allows the bar to move around very easy and also better for painting purposes as nothing gets in the way.

when i mounted my t5 gearbox up to the 304 i used a castlemain rod shop crossmember, and they said to use the standard trimatic crossmemeber mount, which is what looks like you have used. i think this would have worked if i used the th700 but it was too high for the t5, i used a t5 crossmember mount which was an odd shape so i had to modify it. this dropped the gearbox down by about 1 inch which made a huge difference, and made it heaps easier to slide the bolts through the engine mounts as well, so it proved that the engine was previously sitting on a bit of an odd angle.

here is a pic

you can buy the t5 mount at holden only if i remember, its the type that mounts onto a bar that sits between the crossmember and the chassis. had to explain but they should know what you are talking about.

I used the cross member from V6conversions but we had to weld on 2 pieces of right angle because it didn't fit like most things in the kit  ,

The cross member utilised the original rubber mounts on the T5.

He may do a top job, but I've never met anyone who can talk so much crap. You have to allow 2-3 hours every time you went there.

No thanks, i ended up doing my car myself.

G'day Youngy, I like the fab work you had done, its a pitty I don't live where you are otherwise I'd hire the same guy. Some questions though, does those chassis connectors intefere with the K frame? Do they intefere with the seating rails? And can you still use the same carpet or do you have to get special ones made?

Here's a link for some goodies for your V6

Brewster, the guy that does all the fab gets work from all over Australia. I've been waiting 4 months to get my car in and i live in the same street.

I'm also getting the chassis connectors installed along with other fab work, I'll let you know about the carpet issue very soon.

Sorry guys have been heaps busy lately but I found some time to get the pics on photo bucket and get them on here.

Brewster, the chassis connectors do pretrude into the cabin so I will be getting custom carpet, no they don't interfere with the seating rails and what do you mean by the K frame?

Yeah in a few years ill probably fit a SC14 toyota supercharger to it but thats down the track

The last post the car was at the blaster back in November 2007, the Car got to the panel beater in December but we went away for a month so not alot was done on it, I picked up all the painted doors, guards, bonnet and hatch at the beginning of march and the car was picked from the panel shop just before easter.

Cheers guys.

Lets just say ill be paying the old man for at least another year.

Umm as for wheels no I haven't got any yet. Im going to bolt all the running gear up and then measure offsets and what not. I want to run 17inch by 245 at least at the back and probably 17 by 215s on the front.

I will need to find a mob who makes custom offsets, like showwheels, i like the simmons wheels but they are a little expensive at $800 a rim.

Cheers

Hi Youngy, for some reason, I thought the chassis connector involved welding into the subframe / k frame, which meant you couldn't pull of the front end if you wanted to, but I know differently now. :D

Thats a great job the old man has done, you don't see many cars getting painted inside and out, awesome! :spoton:
