hey ppl just joined the forum and here is my car
here is the list of what it will be wen its finished

Crikey, that'a nice sounding project with heaps of really expensive illegal mods planned. Cool stuff, nice to see you thinking big.

What state are you in? I know we couldn't get away with any of that down here. I also expect you have a pretty good job for a fifteen year old.

Good luck buddy, but theres ALOT of work to be done.

I'd love to say that i cant wait to see the finished product, but i just dont hink its gunna happen. but please, prove me wrong.

I dont mean to be a pessimist, but thats aiming fairly high for a first car.

You'd be better off just tidying her up a bit, with a hot six, 4 or 5 speed manual and some decent wheels/paint etc etc.

I agree. We all want to do grand things to our cars, but most of the time we just dont have the time or money.

I'd love to see this kid prove me wrong, but i think that he might be just another dreamer.

I was lucky; all i really wanted done to mine was panel/paint. this hasnt been done yet, but its gunna happen before the end of the year.

I'm gunna give myself till i get my P's to get it to how i want it, but i with a bit of luck ill be finished before then...

this is wat i said. well its 4 months till my 18th and the engine is still out, interior is shot and it still hasnt got a fresh coat of paint :fool:

there's still time right? lol

but to get back to the topic, this sounds like a top project, there have been a couple on the forum that have attempted these sorts of modifications, i suggest you have a browse through all the members projects for some inspiration, some of them were out of this world! good luck mate, i'm sure with the right sort of enthusiasm and motivation you'll pull it off, cant wait to see it!

Lexa, the plan is for me to never have the car off the road for very long, eg I'm not planning on having it in the paint shop for couple of months. and my plans arent that huge anyway.

Depends on what box you want to go. If you were sticking with a mild/hot six then manual conversions would be far more simple.

V8s are not my field. If I was running a bulletproof diff and a tough Holden eight I'd probably bolt a Muncie in there, but I have no idea what costs would be involved in that. Obviously you need a clutch pedal and possibly a different brake pedal. You would need to replace the sheet of metal in the firewall surrounding the steering column with a manual version (has a nice hole for the clutch cable). You may need to cut into your transmission tunnel to accomodate the new shifter.

It all depends on what box you run. I'd allow $600-800 for a Celica 5spd Conversion, maybe up to $900 for a Supra box (same housing, but some internals are tougher).

But if you actually stick with these plans, then you will probably want a stronger box than a Celica/Supra, especially if you can't drive for shit like me. 200kW, burnouts, 9", sorta weak transmission and inexperienced drivers may not mix nicely

Welcome Torona Kid. Enjoy your project. Ask your price questions in the price check section of this forum, u should get quick answers there.

$160 was it, damn bargain well done. Take your time, try to do alot yourself with help from these guys here. Its a great way to learn the Torana way, easy :rolleyes:

to maintain and fairly simple to work on yourself. You will get to know your car on a personal level which will help u to sence any hicups that may happen along the road.

Every one needs dreams and goals, otherwise why the hell r we livin. :rockon:

Yeah, all dreams are better when they come true. Just dont aim too high, or it wont be as good as you expected if you dont make it. Its all good to have big plans, but make them reachable...

I agree with keithy! don't let heath get you down with his negative attitude to young people and cars haha... sorry heath!

nice buy though, i am doing an injected 5litre conversion with my lx... if you wanna know anything about it dude myself and hundreds of others on this site would gladly give you tips and info!
