Howdy,
I am pleased to announce that as of today the QTCC structure has changed significantly. After careful and lengthy consultation with key committee members, life members and club members it has been decided to split the club in to two separate divisions. This will mean that the club will have two committees overseen by a club Chairman. The Chairman of the club for the first year of the new structure will be myself and the position will be voted on as per a normal committee position at this same time next year.
The purpose of dividing the club is purely to cater for the differing needs of club members and to provide additional support and assistance based on the model of Torana or other make of vehicle members drive. For this reason owners of HB to LX model Toranas will fall under the banner of the Qld Torana Car Club (QTCC) whilst owners of UC’s and Fords will fall under the banner of the Ford & UC Club – Queensland (FUCC-Q). This will effectively keep club meetings free of the banter between the different model owners and will allow the meetings to run more efficiently. Meetings will still be held at the same time and place for both clubs however FUCC-Q members will meet in the Function Centre of Fitzys whilst QTCC members will remain in the lounge area.
Club assets will be split evenly between the two clubs but only after the set up costs for the new club have been determined. These costs include new apparel, meal allowances for committee members, club registration fees and the purchase of a data projector and screen for FUCC-Q general meetings.
While membership to the QTCC will remain the same i.e. anyone can join, the membership to FUCC-Q is by invite only. Members who display a passion, dedication and sensible attitude to their UC (converting to LX is not seen as sensible) or Ford will be asked to join the new group. However, if their Ford or UC is neglected or sold they will be asked to revert back to the common Torana group. Members of the new group must not be owners of any other model of Torana however the Chairman must hold ownership of least 3 different model Toranas and a Ford (I have recently purchased an EB XR8 in case you were wondering).
As yet the committee for FUCC-Q has not been elected but the following nominations have been received and I am sure the members will graciously accept.
President – Colin “Mr UC” Aynsley
Vice President – Clay “The Ironing Board Man” Brien
Junior Vice President – Shellie “Is it Ever Going to be Finished” Zygmont
Secretary – Bec “Ms 351” McCutcheon
Treasurer – “Lucky” Phil Emmerton
Membership Officer – Paul “Block Cracker” Schultz
The other committee positions will in time be filled but in the interim, the QTCC positions of Run Coordinator, Fund Raising Officer and Club Registration Officer will serve both clubs with an emphasis on the new club to help establish stability and encourage member participation. As Paul Donovan, Corey and Cazz Hindley are all open minded appreciators of both UC’s and Ford’s we do not foresee there being a conflict of interest in these roles.
We will be discussing the new club structure in more detail at the next general meeting and I encourage your ideas, thoughts and suggestions on how to best effect the transition.
Please see below for the new clubs logo. This will soon be printed on our Shirts, Jackets, Stubbie Coolers, USB drives, Coffiee Mugs and a club Flag and Banner.
Any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.
Stay Cool and Drive Safe,
Tony Standfield
Chairman – QTCC and FUCC-Q
