Hi Ryan,

The wheels look good. The larger window type would have been better but like you said they will still look good.

Are you going to paint the outside bits to look like sprintmasters?

I would also try to make the center cap similar to sprintmasters. Just my thoughts. If you leave them as is they will still look the part.

Warren.

are they lc 2 door seats that can be trimmed to look like factory gtr? they look different to other seats ive seen, but maybe thats just me

16 x 7 and 16 x 8 (7 inch was as skinny as you could go, otherwise i would've gone smaller for the front)

Have fun masking them up for painting Ryan. It took me 2 hours per wheel!! I also need to do mine again as some of the prep work wasn't quite right and the paint is coming off in a few places. So if you find an easy way of masking up let me know. I was thinking about putting a piece of clear contact over entire wheel centre and then cutting out the bits??

wheels have been painted and look a million bucks! very happy! will post pics tonight, I'm on my phone at the moment, we are on our way back from the engine shop, will post some pics of the shop also took dad about 30 minutes per wheel to mask up (but he's a spray painter). He used fine blue tape for the edges and then masked the rest with 2 inch and 1 inch masking tape, he then sat them in the boxes they can in and taped it up to paint them (easier than covering the rest of the rim) will post pics tonight looking at a poster on my wall of a pink blown torana 'front' and it has longbeach customs wheels and they look very similar to mine, only difference is the center cap from what I can tell Ryan,

A lot of work in setting it up for the spray job but well worth it :clappin:

Top job

I have a soft spot for the LC GTR but it definetely wasn't in the seats or hard ride, much prefer my SS for that.

Dummy fitted the engine and gearbox today, shouldn't have to do to much cutting for the shifter to fit..

And regarding badge placement, where exactly do they go (mm from edge etc.) as i had a quick search and could only find 1 page that showed it, and it was different to a mint original gtr that a guy let me measure?

I have the badges, they are orange, is this right or are they ment to be red?

Are the trim badges different to the exterior badges?

Thanks, Ryan

Also i found the original triangular throttle bracket, and it was spotwelded on

that nearly means its a gtr doesnt it? how would an lc S have a spot welded triangular throttle bracket?

Hey Mate, great reading your post. I didn't notice a reason noted elsewhere, just interested what you're doing with the heater and interior fan since you've sealed up the openings? Intending to do 12v heater or something?

Only if i have to do get it rego'd, depends who the guy is really.. if they say i need a heater/demister i'll just get one of those small 12v ones of ebay to keep them happy

Car is currently on a rotisserie, will get pictures when i get a chance, just been really busy thats all

I bought a 12v off eBay. Then had it hard wired into car. The space inside the dash is perfect for pointing it up through the vents and screwing it to the inner dash. Works like a piece of crap but l don't care it passed the test. I don't drive in the early hours, rain or night with my car so l suppose it depends on what you are dong with the car.

Okay thanks for the heads up, will get a 12v one.

Got heaps of pictures to upload when i get a spare minute

Tyres are fitted on rims, got the local engineer to make a spacer for the torana drop stub to fit onto the ford leyland disc so now it all fits, just need to roll the guards.

car is on the rottisserie and underneath now looks like the outside, still might prime it one  more time though

Yeah it was, but we drilled it off as we're running sonic injection and wont be needing it..

Heard a story about the car the other day.. This guy reckons that it was a gtr and someone stole it and turned it into an S so they wouldn't find it? Would make sense why the gtr holes were bogged up and there were S holes on the side. Seats, gearbox and engine were also stolen.

Not that it worries me if it is an S or not, especially seeming what were doing with the car
