That engine with the JZ head was producing 360 FWHP according to the owner.

Very stout for a 6 banger!

Yep, dads been pretty busy with other cars at the moment, but hoping to have it nearly finished.. dont know how much longer the engine will be thats the only thing

Who said that? In the article on the car in street machine, he estimated around 300hp, which is still quite optimistic

It has a production crank, production rods and acl pistons. It has a nice head, but the rotating assembly is nothing out of the ordinary really.

A lot of the group NC torana's were claiming around 350hp and they have forged pistons, custom Carrillo rods, $3000 custom crank, billet cnc'd girdles, billet main caps, 50mm webers etc etc.

But remember it's the top end which makes the power, the bottom end just needs to be able to handle the loads. A basic Jzed headed engine will easily make more power than a Nc engine.

Wouldn't be surprised if they're more closer to 300hp mark tbh.A jzed with with big comp & cam to match the head would make hell of a lot more however from what I was told a well set red or blue head 202 would be a nicer street motor.

With right parts,propercam/induction & quality head porter these days could bulid a beastly 202 that can be driven IMHO.

Even my old triple webber 202,m20/banjo concoction of holden parts managed a 13.1 & would have easily gone quicker with better experience...most fun engine I ever had lol.

Back from holidays, was good to get away from it for a while..

Diff and front end has been painted, and so has the engine bay and boot

Also got a set of new stainless moulds while we were at toranafest, cheaper than repairing the old ones

Ryan,

Here's a picture of the boot, its pretty dusty, but you get the picture

What colour do you think for the fuel tank?

Hi Ryan,

I would paint it black. The same as the boot. I personally don't consider the tank to be a feature.

It's up to you though. Either way I'm sure it will look good

Cheers, Warren.

That's an LC hole. The LJ's were further back beside the 1/4 window.

Yep Ryan no mistake. That is my territory. Put entire car together and ended up with LJ door mirror holes. Still have the LJ holes now. It kills me every time l look at it. Have no original paint now so have to try and match!!!!

So leave yours as it is coz they are LC holes.

I don't know if the holes diameters are correct but the positioning is certainly lc. I know because my lj had lc holes and my lc has lj holes.

Yeah the holes are right now.. i always had a feeling that they were wrong to start off with, but with no lc mirror to check with there was nothing we could do

Borrowed the a spare mirror off a mate, so its all good now :D

Can't wait to see more orange on it, that is a standout colour you've chosen Ryan.

Can of worms with lc mirror positioning haha.

Remember there were a few debates about that...general consensus was depended on where they were built was what got the position closer to door edge or further back near 1/4 window.

Bit like the seatbelt emblems or whether wheels were black, ash grey etc..on and on.

But yeah, lucky save as lc mirror more suitable for theme of this car.
