Ok, bit of an update on the engine, message from the engine builder;

"I'm waiting to see a 4340 crank that one of the top circuit car guys has bought. If it looks like a good deal I will order one as they are breaking the standard cranks often now. Once I have crank, rods and pistons things will be all go! I have to make a dry sump pan as we discussed, I have marked out pan to cut, but that's about it. Block has been line bored etc but not bored or decked. I probably should order custom steel cam and roller followers now..... that way we will have every ready to go. I will keep you informed"

Starting to come together!

After seeing the crank, he said that it looks good. Had large counterweights that he lightened, different in oil setup, but looks good.

Here's some pics/

Do you remember whose it was?

The picture was taken at his sop, I think he had to do the lightening and balancing for whoever owns tat particular crank.

I have no idea, sorry

I will have a Scout around for You on the net,

I wonder how to tell what seal a crank has by looking at it. Dave I

may have been this RB30 one:-

but I will keep looking

Well, I have now looked at 100's of Holden Steel Crankshafts,

and there is noting that comes close, except the RB30 one,

RB30's went well, so you better find that owner Ryan.

Umm, I thought it might have been a Tate crank, will find out

What extractors will you be using on this motor gorto?

Mandrel bent 2in, bit small, but its what came with the original engine.

Looked at getting 2 1/8 HM header, but they were to suit 9-ports only I think.

Their last post on facebook was over 5 months ago, I doubt the page is still active and their cranks were around $500 more expensive.

Diff hat turned up from the states.

Poor packaging resulted in it being scratched. No drama, I sanded it with 400, 600... 1500 and gave it a polish on the wheel. Looks better than before anyway, so thanks to whoever backaged it with metal clips holding the box together! (Pic is before I polished it)

Few mods to make it fit (knew that before we bought it). American borgwarner is slightly different. Had to drill the bottom hole out to 12mm and had to slightly machine the bearing caps so the girdle had a flat surface to push/support.

Had my tail lights electro plated by a 'guru'. Not happy. Same story as the rest of the chrome i sent to a different guy, outside; perfect, inside; far from it.

Looks alright in the pics, but all the inside edges are frOcking bubbly and shit.

Maybe i'm being a bit hard, anyone ever seen PERFECT chrome on tail lights before??
