It's such a nice car and all I want to do is spend more time working on it, but with the astronomical amount of school work i have (year 12 - HSC) i only get an hour free here and there. Would never get finished without dads help. Hopefully will be all worth it in the end though.

The upholsterer is coming out later this week to get some measurements and finish the last panel of the hoodlining then fit it.

Told the engine man that we are working on the torana again, so he is going to get back onto it. He has just bought a brand new 5 axis CNC machine and a diamond cylinder hone so once they are set up and the shop is operating normal again will be all systems go again. Basically, we have majority of the parts, except for the dry sump pump and the cam, it was ordered before Christmas, but with the death of old Ivan he doesn't want to put any pressure on them.

How did dad go on the stripes Col? He did it while I was at school so i just texted him the measurements that someone got off your car i believe?

Also wasn't too sure about how far under the badge the stripe goes, as i had photos of heaps of stripes from toranfest and they were all different, some under 1 letter, other under all 3, etc. So we just did what we thought looked best.

Spent a few hours after school dummy fitting the fuel system. Got an alloy plate bent up and the carter gold, 044, surge tank and filters fitted and the lines made up. Took it all apart now and going to weld a gusset on the plate so that it doesnt vibrate with the pump mounted on it and polish it all up.

Thanks!

That is dad's mental HQ monaro.. Owned it for 22 years. Its 90% way through a new driveline build, gt47 540ci BBC built by the same guy that is building my 202. On the engine dyno it made 1470hp at 6k and only 13psi.

Wow - maybe some pics in the Non-Torana Projects section, with all that time you have. :-)

Loving your car, keep at it.

Very nice work here. Do you use some paint protectors on it? I want to repaint mine too, and I am thinking of protecting the new paint. My friend used some products from colourshield. What do you think of such things? I need some qualified opinion! :)

The thread holders opinon may differ, but in my professional opinion most of them are bs and no match to regular application of a good quality wax.

Cheers.

Agree 100% bomber. Dad says he occasionally gets a customer that right or wrong wants "paint protection", but he says its a waste of time. A good quality wax is all that's needed, we use Bowden's.

i dont think that your car will pass a roadworthy with the fuel system in the boot.

Car will be engineered, so dont think it will matter. As long as the engineer passes it all good I assume.

If the engineer gets picky (not sure who it will be yet, used to have an engineer that would tick it off easy, but he has retired) I might have to put it in a sealed box. But hopefully it's fine and I just have to have the breather venting to the atmosphere.

If we don't end up engineering it, we will have no trouble getting a roadworthy (know people), it's just what Mr police officer thinks when I get pulled over without an engineering certificate, although i doubt majority of them will know what they are looking at, just tell them its a Peter Brock special or something lol
