Yeah? That'd be awesome if you could help me out. I'll check when i get home, not sure whether i need the whole strap or just the pin part.

Pretty sure the chromers lost it..

The pin is folded over like a rivet, its sacrificial. Gotta drill it or grind it.

Springs i can get ya, tearing a car apart atm that has them, as i said the pins are sacraficial, to get the strap off (the part he's holding in his hand) you need to drill or grind the pin.

You could probably redo it as per origional by machining up a pin, head for the top, and drill a hole a bit smaller than the OD of the pin in the bottom side, put it together and hold a big hammer ontop and give it a flog from the bottom with a smaller one....Want some balls doing that beside your paitn work though.

Im thinking you will be bolting it back on?

Okay I see, looks like we'll be putting a bolt through it then!

If you could get me the springs that'd be awesome! Doubt I could find a spring that small in town anywhere..

UPDATE:

Headlining in herringbone. Think my year model should have been roebuck but upholsterer said he couldn't get it thin enough to use as a headlining or get the right colour or something.

I bought a full rubber kit through betta auto rubber. It was a tight fit and the rubber has started to pull away from the chrome on the bottom corner. Not sure if its the rubbers fault or the shape of the car+windscreen

Been to the engine shop to have a look today, all very exciting. Have pics of the pistons, rods, crank and valves, will post them in the morning. All very flash.

Shop now has a 5 axis CNC machine (Centroid A560) and a Sunnen diamond cylinder hone.Plates are being made up to mount the block to be bored in the machine, I think he said to an accuracy of 2 tenths of a thou, ridiculously accurate, perfectly straight.

Decided to mount the dry sump tank in the boot as there's just not enough room in the bay, will have to run solid steel lines front to back which will be a pain though. Need to run a water to oil cooler too, will speak to pwr to see if they do a custom job, mounted parallel with the radiator as to not have lines and fittings going everywhere in the bay.

Very nice!
How many cc's is the dome on the piston?

Did the builder opt for a smaller valve stem? Ie 5/16

Nice goodies Ryan

Sure are, thanks Gene.

Told him we will need it by late June/early July to get it all finished in time for toranafest so we should see some progress in the coming months hopefully. The cam is the hold-up at present, was ordered last year and still haven't got it.

Unfortunately I'm no help for either questions though.. haha

All I know is that the final comp will be 11:1 and the only thing I remember him saying about the valves is that they were custom, and radius locked.

All good, it's a sweet build and I'm hanging to see the final outcome.
I take it the cam is being sourced from the US or similar? I bought one in oz and it took 3 weeks.

No actually, its a Tighe cam, builder has 6 cams on order.. Dean has obviously slowed things down a bit after the passing of his father (which is completely understandable).

You got some nice gear, is the crank gun drilled? What harmonic balancer do you intend on using? Be great to see how much HP you can get.

Regards
