Will definitely still go down for the show on Sunday, just probably not with the car at this stage, will see how we go though. Also just found out that I have an Aptitude Engineering Assessment at Griffith Engineering (Gold Coast) on the 19th of September so wouldn't have worked out anyway..

This is a gorgeous build.
I haven't read the entire thread but what engine combo are you going to use?

Thanks Macca
Back into the car.. few more bits fitted, billet hinges, wilwood master cylinder, optima battery and billet battery tray in the boot, etc.
Engine is plodding along.
The flywheel is getting welded at present to make sure the fit to the crankshaft is perfect. Then balanced after machining.
Lifter bores have been honed etc
All clearance work pretty much done.
Final piston to valve check once crank is in
Sump should be finished any time soon (modified for dry sump)
Pipes are a bit of a nightmare, but can't afford a custom set, will have to modify what we have and make do. Only 1 1/2 in primaries so I think a bigger set might be on the cards in the future, but not for a while..
Racing dads gtr (r32) in the Morgan Park sprint series at Warwick Friday, Saturday and Sunday so that'll be a bit of fun, can't wait. Been a while since i've raced, been too busy.
Will upload some update pics when I get a chance

I may have a set of big primary, equal length extractors for sale after toranafest (suit 12 port in LJ torana) just need them on the racecar to have it driveable off the trailer into the event, its then likely getting a new heart, so wont need them after that.
Should add, they were custom made to suit as well.

Seems a real shame (with the amount you've already spent) to not go for custom pipes.

Interested for sure, send us a PM if you decide to sell them.
Think I might make the trip down to Newcastle for ToranaFest and have a look around on the Sunday and have another look at the uni while I'm down there.

Bottom end is assembled and all piston to head/valve checks completed.
Girdle has been cnc'd to clear the h beam rod bolts
Straight cut steel gears for the cam
Converted sump seal to neoprene to suit dry sump rather than rope seal
Machined main cap to clear crank
Head needs new larger inserts (exhaust is fine, just intake) and then he will run the cnc machine through the head and intake manifold a bit larger, perfect fit and a nice finish.
Here's some pics of the girdle and the assembled bottom end.
The girdle is 22mm thick and actually indexes the caps which you rarely see.

Shell is pretty much finished, all windows in finally. Dry sump and fuel lines from boot, along floor have been completed. Just waiting on the engine now before it all goes back together. No big rush, it will get done eventually. As above, bottom end is complete, just waiting on new intake head inserts and run the cnc through them. Need to organise some bigger headers too, might be able to get a set of orangeLJ, if not, will have to get a set custom made. Then final assemble, dyno and tune, woohoo.
Will post some pics when I get a chance.
Ryan.

Well Ryan,
It's been some time since I've posted on here but I have been keeping an eye on your progress with your lovely LC.
What a fantastic car it is and all that you have learnt along the way will help you learn other stuff as you move through life, doing stuff.
Well done mate.
Warren.

Also got the front seats back from the upholsterer, so all the interior is just sitting there ready to go in after the driveline

Just thought I would let you all know that I'm moving to Newcastle tomorrow, studying a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering at UON.
So unfortunately, not many updates for a while.
Engine man is back after his break and will still be working on it however. I'll be sure to post any photos or updates he sends through.
Cheers, Ryan.

My thoughts will be with you.
Best wishes,
Warren.

Good to hear that Uni is going well as that's important. Your Torana will keep wait for you while you are doing other things.
The head work sounds like a bit of a process in itself. One day the car will all be done and you can enjoy all the work that's been done.
Best wishes, Warren.

Yeah that's it, the torrie will still be there once I'm done.
Thanks mate, Ryan.

Not much has changed since last update. Still flat-out juggling uni and work.
Here's a few pics of the completed long block. Just the engine loom to go then dyno time. Has been such a long process, but luckily I'm in no rush.
