Remember it's a 2dr, so the seats must be capable of folding forward to allow access for rear seat passengers.

LX hatchback seats would be an easier fit than the HQ seats.

Wish you guys would stop posting that Rally Red GTR, I'm trying to forget about it.

It is a great colour combo.

One more time... :spoton:

Gene, it's his car, let him do what he wants. Anyway, it's an S not a GTR.

I had Lancer Seats in my LC GTR in 1983 which were an Orange colour and had Head Rests and folded forward. Dave I

p.s. the seat bolted down OK, not sure whether the LC floor frame was used

Not a fan. The front tyres appear to be bigger than the rear tyres and the bonnet doesn't close properly....awesome colour but let down with detail.

LOL @ the it is and the it's not a GTR reference. Who frOcking cares? GTR, XU1, A9X, SL/R....haha. They are all the same with different badges and a few different pieces. Like a HSV of today. What it started it's life as is a Torana....and a classic shaped one at that.  Let the kid do what he wants to HIS car.  Personally, I hope he mods it to look fast, go hard and be ultra cool.  A concourse resto doesn't suit everyones taste - thankfully, or car shows would have bugger all visitors.

PS: It's obvious I've ONLY got an SL Torana   :furious:  haha

Ryan LC seats are a must if you really want to do the LC GTR look justice. You have an offer to buy some so jump at them. Get a headrest made up that's sits over the backrest.

Have a look at any of the 2 door small japanese cars for some suitable seats.

Lancer, Laser, Charade are good starting spots.

most of them had side bolsters and folded/slid all the way forwards.

Thats fine, i agree with you that its an S, i just dont see the need to comment that? whether its an S or a GTR makes no difference to what seats go in it.

You could also visit Supercheap. Occasionally they have specials on floor stock seats that might be down your alley.

Also I got to see an LC GTR that was painted gold and had a bone/beige interior. Such a beautiful colour scheme, worthwhile considering.

cheers

Glenn

The seats at super cheap/repco aren't a great fit (I've had a set in the race car)

Just so we keep the conversation in context, my comment was a direct reply to ICE (Gene's) comment about using LC seats, and I quote "its a lc gtr do it justice".

Cheers

Dave.

Perhaps the title of the thread should be changed to LC GTR Replica. Father and son ground up restoration.

Just to avoid any further confusion in the future.

This thread is about a father and son LC Torana build.

Not petty comments that annoy most people.

If people want to argue about trivial stuff then start a new thread.

He said, She said, She said, he said. Who cares.

Good move Ryan on pm'ing Lona-ck about buying a set of LC seats of him.

No, your not the bad guy Gene, I am! You didn't know, so I was pointing that out to you.

Warren, I think Ryan and his dad are doing a fantastic job restoring his LC. He is so lucky to have a dad who is so enthusiastic and skilled in car restoration to help and guide him.

I'm young so i don't understand the whole gtr thing. If he wants it to look like a GTR then thats ok, If he wants to call it a GTR is ok to who really gives a toss. If he wants to sell it and calls it an original GTR then sure there is something wrong with that. I don't get why GTR/XU1 owners get so frOcking pissed/mad. He likes that style of car as do you he may just not be able to afford the real thing or he doesn't want to pay 40k for a car that he can make more or less identical for atleast half the price.

Stupid 2 door owners :banghead:

And  :stirpot:  in advance.

Also Stop turning his build thread into crap, it is a good read until all this broke out
