Well then, glad all of that has been cleared up..

back on topic i guess.

Reprimed the engine bay, fixed a couple of bits that weren't perfect, re-primed the boot and re-blocked and primed the front guards.

Body is now looking straight as an arrow and ready to be painted once the drive-line has been fitted,

Ryan,

Talked to dad and a couple of other painters in town, decided we are going for a solid clear over base orange, lone o ranger mixed with a bit of madarin sortve look.

Heres some photos of my phone, probably not so good quality

Time to pack it up for a while now, need to focus on getting the driveline finished so we can fit it. Engine is still a bit off yet, gearbox is just about finished, clutch is done and need to order diff once the wheels to up in another 8 weeks so we can cut the tailshaft to length

Hi Ryan,

The shell is looking good. Lone o ranger mixed with a bit of mandarin should look really good.

Like all thorough rebuilds it's a lot of work but the end result will be fantastic.

I think you have done so well and admire you for what you've done. It's great that you can learn skills from your dad.

The skills you learn with doing this sort of stuff will enable you to fix stuff throughout your life, which is great.

The stub axles should do the job. Not cheap but well worth it.

The camera pictures are good enough quality. It's good to see how things have progressed.

Warren.

Front seats will be recovered Subaru liberty (2011-12 model i think?) to look like lc seats, will have to do a little bit of shaping and should look similar to lc seats without the headrest and can just put the headrest in on race day. Already had the seats so thought why not.

Ryan,

Sounds like a good plan Ryan. That sorts out the headrest situation.

Should be a good cheap solution.

Have you trial fitted them?

Wrx seats (dame size as fozzy and I think liberty seats) are a bit too big for lbs, they only.just sorts fit in lh/lx

Yeah they fit, just need to make some modifications on the mounts

I'll upload some pics of them when mum gets home (the pictures are on her iphone)

Rally red gtr few pages back was close to how I bought my lc..mmm

Most seats look too bulky inside the small cabin that they nearly touch.

Had recaros & brock scheels which suiterd it before finally going back to lc seats which looked best yet worst for fast cornering etc lol.

Can't remember last time seen indy orange or daytona bronze torrie.

without the headrest the subaru seats look similar to lc seats just more of a bucket style, would someone with lc seats be able to measure them for me? width and height?

heres the seats, let me know what you think!

At this stage we are thinking about trimming them to look like lc seats (the plastic backboard will be going aswell)

I think he means the two points right at the top of the seat, Dave... So it doesn't look weird without the headrest.

Looks good Ryan! I love your idea, original seats just don't cut it if you want to actually drive the old girl...

Yeah just the bits at the top so it doesnt look stupid without the headrest!

Everyone to themselves Ryan and if you are going to do track work l understand. However every time l would look at it l would just think how much better LC GTR seats would look.

Hi Ryan, good build. have you looked at Sebring orange, it is a dedicated lc gtr colour, so quite rare I think? and probably close to the colour you are looking for.

Its hard enough to find 4 door lc seats let alone 2 door lc seats, would much rather them, but cant find any

I disagree, I think these seats will look awesome, and really suit this build.
