All this talk of wiper motors prompted me to fix mine. The copper tab was snapped off where it bends up, different to others I've seen -

Its hard to see but I still managed to solder it back on -

Hopefully it'll last for a while before it snaps again...

Here's a quick question that's sort of on-topic.

 

Does anyone know if there would be any problems with running the wiper motor in reverse, with respect to the actual wiper movement.  I haven't had a good look at the relay lever system but I suspect it's just a reciprocating lever and given it would park in the same spot I can't see why it would cause any problem.

Just pulled an older Lucas apart and found it has a different set-up. Three copper tabs that touch the plastic gear. This is a 9/70. zyme9yja.jpg
