A golden oldie, Rex Mossop would shout out, 'Shut the gate, the horse has bolted!' after each try was scored.

lol.
During the Harley boom of the 80’s I recall a salesman on TV saying one of his customers told him not to fill the oil or add petrol, he just wanted it for his bar display.
I don’t blame the guy, there was a spike in Harley thefts when bikie gangs started to grow in numbers and they’re probably still on their hit list, some were taken from the owners at gunpoint while they were riding them.

Damn..... obviously the people who steel these cars have no idea what will happen to them if the owner finds out who they are.... or probably anyone else who owns one finds out.....

Friends car looked the part, very nicely done replica, they were very keen on getting it, must have been watching it somehow as he just moved into the place 2 days before and the car had never lived in Perth, broke in when they were asleep, got keys, got past the 2 security systems the car had, one was a battery backed up deal with a key pad with 2 pins required!, then they had to push the car behind it up a very steep driveway to then get his car out, and push THAt up the driveway, neighbour came home from afternoon shift and saw it down the road with the bonnet up and woke them up, gone by the time they got out to where he saw it. paid out after a few weeks, then 3 1/2 months later cops call and say its been found come and pick it up.. so, off we go with a trailer and jack, wheels, tools as no info given on condition, get there and its perfect!!!. no marks on it, no damage whatsoever, more fuel in it then when it was nicked, only some tapes gone.. everything else intact, tyres weren't even feathered from hard driving or anything.. bought it back and sold the other car he had bought to replace it.. weird.
