Hi Nick,

Good to see your project is coming along. Am I missing something here, is there something wrong with the UPC kits? I too will be converting my brakes and stud pattern soon going to HQ pattern as I want weld draglites for my car.. I think they really suit unflared Torana's. I am interested to know how I can go about changing my 9inch axles to HQ pattern also?

Save yourself the major heartache and hidden costs of f/u's by using brake companies like Hoopers that sell kits that fit, offer customer service and stand behind what they sell, make etc. Tony from UPC (Mr Spares) is like having tits on a bull.

Absolutely mate I think that is the best option even if they are a bit more expensive. I live close by Hoppers Stoppers which is convenient if I have any trouble. Are these kits easy to install at home and about how long will they take for a 1st timer?

They don't look that hard to fit.. Especially for my I have the front end stripped so it would be assembled on a bench.
If you have to remove all brakes and swap stubs on car might take a couple of hours..
I still haven't orded mine as I am still confused on what pattern to go. Ford does sound easiest so I am leaning that way.

The kits from hoppers are easy to fit only a couple hours and its all done. I have the 330mm kit here for my lj it fitted up and had not 1 drama doing it. I went Commodore pattern

As LJShawn says (hi mate), the Hoppers kits are easy to fit and I can add the after sales service is awesome. Quality business, quality kit.

I went Chev pattern so I could run a bowtie Chev badge on my wheels...

Joking, joking. :stirpot:

Why not just run 1/2" studs with Chev pattern ? I do....

I have a Hoppers kit on the front with 12mm studs and HQ pattern, they sit right at the edge of the conversion hub so for a 1/2" stud to safely go in there it would need a reasonably small shank at the spline (many, particularly long ones, have oversized shanks which would break out of the edge of the flange).
