Hi all, does anyone know if it is legal to put a carby on a LS1 engine? Would be good to have the old school look but the benefits of a

LS engine.

Technically illegal as you no longer comply to the emission regs of the engine

You also lose some of the benefits that come with efi , ie tunability ,cold start/idle control etc

If you alter the factory ECU or injection then usually you will be required to pay for and pass an emissions test.

If the LS engine was a crate engine then you can do it in NSW. But you need some way of proving it.

That looks so sweet moot, if I was keeping my car I would have that set-up 2moz mate.

But what's the deal with the filter? Would you
need to put an air box around it like a std efi intake to make it legal if it even passed a emissions test?

I honestly think more than half the ppl who saw that would think that's a carby-fed engine.

Cheers, Nig
