Looks tough Craig, sits well on that rubber.

C'mon, we need you to get this over the line, so you can cruise.

Marty

Thanks mate.

I know the flares aren't popular but I like things that are a little bit different so at this stage they're staying.

I'm hoping to get into it this weekend.

Might have to get a permit to see my mechanic in Fremantle on Sunday morning  :driving:

Great shot of the car ... the flares give it attitude and a wider stance.

Thanks for all the positive comments guys.

I will go original paint on it Col, but not yet.

That is a spare grill I had, the one that was on it was painted black.

I got a response from Queensland Transport today, not very helpful.

This is a summary;

"Due to the strict privacy rules the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) adhere to, we are unable to provide the information you have requested by email or the standard Release of Information application. TMR can only provide vehicle history information to Registered Operators from the date the vehicle was registered in their name."

So basically they said No, p!ss off.

I've replied to the email saying that I don't want any names or addresses, just the info that is normally on the car, but I don't expect much of a response.

Its going to be pretty hard to get the info as the Registered Operator because it won't be registered in QLD and even so, just reading that now it appears they will only give me info since I became the registered owner (in QLD), which is never.

My only hope is that the VIN tag falls out of the dash or something while I'm driving along, its not under the carpet, I already pulled that up.

If anyone thinks they recognise the car from Queensland I'd love to hear any info you might have.

Here is an old pic I found on OldHolden.

Attached File  GMH-Torana Photo_0.JPG   103.1K   7 downloads

That was actually taken in Melbourne when the car was there, maybe I can get more info from Victorian Transport Dept.

She's been everywhere man.

So after several emails back and forth from TMR in Queensland, I finally decided to give them a call.

As it turns out, as I have never  been a registered owner of the car, they can't give me any information due to the FOI act, and the fact that the info I am requesting is on the vehicle.

If it was on the vehicle, I wouldn't be asking would I?

I'm just after the original engine number ffs.

Even if I register it in WA, TMR Queensland can not release the information to me.

Bollocks.

In other news, I got new tyres, ended up going with Maxxis 205/60/R13, so I will put the wide wheels and tyres back on in the near future, looks a bit poxy with the skinnies.

Oh and new badges too, from Phil's Rotaries, got the grill badge today, but nothing to attach it with so will have to work something out or buy some clippy things I guess.

Hey potta
If you put those tyres on it they wont pass it
They are too small on the OD
205/60 13 has an OD of 576mm
The spec is 607mm
Just sayn as i have the same size on mine and they wont pass inspection
I tried VSS in perth but they wont budge on the national standard
Have a read of my last thread
Cheers Mike...

I find that hard to believe Mike. Two completely different cars. Craig's tyres were the standard of the day in their day. ??????

The coppers have been picky in WA as of late
Nothing worst than taking it back again and wasting more money
Mind you i have been told they fail you on the first inspection so they can make money off you. A rip off IMO

Yep Craig,

a B70H13 black band tyre ( 175/70/13 ) = 575.3mm rolling diametre,

and here are the equivalent rim/tyre rolling Diametre sizes in Fluro Green for a 205/60/13:-

http://ejelta.com/ti...el=13&maxwheel=

still the 205 width could cause a problem being more than 25.4mm wider than standard,

but only just by 5mm, fingers crossed.  :furious:

Got some new tyres, will fit soon.

Probably going to have to fit some taller springs though.
