wtf, just realised that previous pic is upside down, stupid iPad

 

Anyway, here is how it went in

Its supposed to be for LC/LJ but I'm guessing it is for LC because I have an LJ lower dash and as you can see, it doesn't fit right.

 

Which presents me with a dilemma, because if I cut it then once I get an LC lower dash it won't fit.

 

Temporary solution maybe? Who needs a lighter anyway?

And here's a pic showing how cr@p my interior is, I'm not fussed, it will all be replaced with LC stuff one day.

 

Although the dash pad is mint so if anyone has an LC one in similar condition they would like to swap, let me know.

Wifey says I'm banned from Rares.

 

I don't think so much because of what I did buy, but also what I looked at and didn't buy (yet) lol.

 

Bit the bullet and bought a new gear knob, just cause I was there, also got some other bits and pieces that I'll need to get on the road.

 

Almost there but having problems with reversing lights again.

 

P!ssing me off lol. 

 

I might just promise I'll always go forwards and see if they'll let me off hahaha.

Reversing lights - fixed
Electric squirties - fixed - new under bottle pump and nozzle fitted
Horn fixed
Starter motor - cleaned and rewired, new shielding installed

Tidy up the interior and degrease, wash and polish and should be good to go!

Also fitted my grille badge

Ringing in the morning to book it in cause it's back together and ready for inspection.

Got 30 days, here I go.

Yeah most of it seems not too hard so I'll have a crack.

Ok, so here's my list.

 

Quite a few things but some are related/redundant I think

 

1. Steering - Rectify pulling on road test 

2. Foot Brake - Rectify swerving/pulling from straight ahead position when brakes applied

3. Differential/Final Drive - Clean and Rectify all Oil Leaks

4. Steering Box/Rack - Rectify all excessive Free play

5. Linkage - Rectify all excessive free play including Tie Rod ends, left side

6. Interior General - Fill or cover speaker holes in parcel shelf

7. Control Arms - Rectify Damaged/bent including Rear trailing arm

8. Control Arms - Rectify excessive movement/worn bushes, including bottom, left lower

9. Seat Belts - Rectify damaged/frayed webbing - Right Front

10. Indicator lamps to cancel on left and right turns as steering wheel returns to center position

11. Gearbox - Clean and rectify all oil leaks - plug missing in yoke shaft

12. Indicator lamps to operate correctly including right rear - rectify light dull

13. Plate Lamp to operate correctly

14. Park Brake locking pawl/ratchet to operate correctly

15. Seats - Fit trims, knobs, rotating wheels - drivers side tilt knob cover missing

16. Centre console to be securely mounted

17. Steering to self centre after turns

18. Rectify steering too heavy

 

So, a bit of work to do, but its amazing how a list and a deadline can make things easier.

 

18 things to fix, 30 days to fix them.

Progress so far;

 

Completed

 

6. Installed speakers to cover speaker holes. Not plugged in or anything, just there.

12. Indicator fixed. Had a bent contact which was making it fall out of the plug. Also installed orange globes for a more orange indicator.

13. Replaced globe for plate light

 

In Progress

 

1. Rack being removed and taken to Wilkinson's suspension for Reco on Tuesday. May resolve some other issues too

7, 8. Replacement LTA's located

9. Drivers Seat belt removed, will go to Seatbelt Solutions Tuesday unless I can use one I have already.

11. Drive shaft removed, the plug is definitely missing.

14. Have sourced replacement hand brake, but can't remove old one from my car, cross threaded bolt dag nabbit!

 

Off to Rare's tomorrow with a list of stuff so I can keep going over the weekend.

 

Back to work on Wednesday next week so I want to get as much as I can done asap.
