Great Work Craig,
The amount of work you have put into the RWC tasks,
is like rebuilding an LC GTR,
in such a short amount of Time.

Have you checked the steering coupling , the failed mine when it went for rego .
Yeah its nolathane which I don't like but its fairly new.
I will replace it later.
Pretty sure they only check what failed last time anyway.
At least I hope, otherwise he's likely to go to town again.

dunno mate, she's still up on stands, had to get a seal for one of my backing plates so can't put the wheels back on yet.
It will be a matter of put it together and hope I think.
It was pretty much self centering before, it was just that it was pulling to the left that made it seem like it wasn't self centering.
I'm really hoping I don't need a new shaft.

Jobs left to do;
Refit Wheels
Wheel alignment
Fit new Seatbelt
Fit console securely
Tighten suspension once it is on the ground and settled
Bleed brakes
Under vehicle degrease
Fit drive shaft
Hope for the best
Test

Lots of fiddling, tightening, adjusting etc etc tonight.
Feels like I got nothing done but put in a solid couple of hours.
A few little fiddly bits that took up a heap of time.
Fingers crossed, might have to say a little prayer mate.
regards
Thanks Jon, I'm happy for anyone to pray to whichever deity they see fit to get me across the line.
I just need a little bit of luck and I'll be right.
Its the console that's going to be a b!tch, I can tell already.

Did you have guages in the console, can't remember. Would it be easier just to remove it for the check?
Edit, you'd probably need a new shifter boot then I guess which might be just as difficult.

Just waiting for my brake pedal pumper to get home and I'll be able to go for a test run
Posted 19 February 2015 - 06:02 PM
STart gravity bleeding them while you wait
Posted 19 February 2015 - 06:49 PM
Tried doing it myself but couldn't quite reach the spanner with my foot on the brake lol.
Posted 19 February 2015 - 06:58 PM
I do them myself with no special tools exclusively, as i've managed to teach the dog to neither press the brake pedal or turn the spanner.
Just crack a nipple and wait, give it a pump on the pedal occasionally if you get bored, fluid will come out eventually. Run some clear PVC line from the bleeder, and run it up then down into a bottle. After you have blead them fairly well you will have a solid colom of fluid in the line with no air bubbles, then you can start pumping the pedal a bit. Close the nipple, pump it, open it again, etc, time consuming but works when you have no friends and live alone.
Cheers.

Pretty happy right now, drives straight, stops straight, is awesome.
List is completed except for wheel alignment which will happen in the morning.
To say I'm stoked and relieved is a massive understatement.
Thanks to everyone who offered support and advice, wish me luck.
