Can't believe you still have a sense of humour after all this Potta! All power to you, as I reckon I would have lost mine well before this. Good luck with the last few items. I had an original rack refurbished for my car, and it is just too tight; much tighter than how they were when original. Not sure if they shim the bejingies out of the yoke when they refurbish them or what. I've decided not to use it though and stick with a used rack, as it is much lighter and self centres.

The handbrake warning light assy is factory fitted to 82911 and 82569 models. Dealer fitted accessory for 82311 and 82369 models.
In any case the globe and holder and wiring will be there in the instrument fascia and harness as it is required for the brake fail warning on all models produced from 1st January 1971.
Craig, I suppose we should ask if you have tested the brake fail circuit to see if the warning light is working.
Disconnect the wiring connector from the brake fail switch and earth it out somewhere suitable on the chassis/body.
Now turn the ignition to the on position and see if the fail light illuminates.
Nah I haven't checked Dave, I'll give it a go.
Thanks for the tip.

Yeah can't say I haven't thought of getting rid of it but I know if I do that I may never have another one.
Interesting what you say about the rack being too tight, it may be worth "borrowing" the rack from my 4 door, but then it will probably fail for having a sloppy rack.

1. Steering to self centre after turns - Does it for me lol
2. Diff Leaking (previously fixed dammit) - Blatant lies lol. I can't find evidence of a leak, will make sure I give it a wipe prior to next inspection ;-)
3. Busted bump stops on front suspension - Think I need to pop off ball joint/s to do this - what a prick.
4. Torn boot on my brand new steering rack, not happy jan!
5. Park brake warning lamp to operate correctly - confirmed this is required.

Got one done, and think I've worked out how to fix the self centering issue.
Just off to buy some new upper ball joints lol.
Split the first one and will probably do the same to the second.
I'd rather swap them now than have to take it all apart after going over the pits again.

Don't know much about Camber and Stuff,
But I have seen lot's of packers,
and not a lot in the Little Torana's front suspension adjustments.
It is the Cars weight that creates the self centering,
so me thinks, a level against the front wheels vertically,
can show you the angle the wheel is,
to compare with a Torry that has self centering.
Hope that helps.

Its mainly cause the rack is new and too tight Dave.
I've had a wheel alignment and it was better but still no cigar.
Going to try a different rack.
If that doesn't work, I guess I'm pulling the K frame out to straighten it so they can get more adjustment in to the wheel alignment.

How about extra shims in the rack?
Even slightly loosen the 2 covers and see if it improves.

very handy and good to know, thanks very much Red.
That is 2 years before my car was built though, so it could have changed.
I'm sure it would be specified in an ADR right?
So I just need to find which one and whether that applies to my car or not.

Applicable ADR's are;
2, 3, 4, 5A, 7, 10A, 15, 20
Now I just have to find out if any of them say, hand brake warning light required.
I'm getting some conflicting information so just want to be sure.
I'll probably just put one in but would love to show the guy at the licensing centre because when I said they never had one he told me to get out my money, it is a legal requirement for every car.
Would love to prove him wrong.

Brake Failure Warning Lamp is ADR 31 - introduced in 1977 - not relevant to my car.

Ok, so I've been through all of the relevant ADR's and there is no mention of hand brake warning lamp.
If anyone wants to have a look, you can go to https://infrastructu...tor/design/pdf/<number>.pdf
Does that mean it is not compulsory for my car?
I may start another thread

If the hand brake warning lamp had been the subject of an ADR back in the late 60's early 70's then they would have been mandatory on all vehicles not std on some and an added extra on others.
The fact of the matter is this equipment was standard fitment on the 82911 model so technically he is correct when he rebutted your claim that 'they (the GTR) never had one' however he is incorrect in claiming they were a 'legal requirement for every car', built at that period in time.
My 5 cents
Cheers
Dave.

The scan of Second Edition ADR 7 (Hydraulic Brake Hoses) on that site is messed up, it has pages of ADR 6 scanned in and it's missing page 2 of 3 from ADR 7
Does anyone happen to have a better copy?

Don't fit it. Go back to this tool and STICK IT IN HIS FACE!!!!!
Unless you want him to pass your car. In that case you may just need to kiss his arse no matter how much it hurts.
