Having some time off this week and plan to get it sorted then.

We made some progress today.
I've gotta say a big thanks to Dave I (TORYPOWER) and Gene's mate Mark who came and had a look at the car this morning.
She's still not 100% but SO much better.
There is no fuel blockage issue, its all timing and perhaps fuel level.
Plenty of fuel coming through but I have to put in a filter anyway, last thing I want is sh!t in the carby.
But the main problem was that the spark plug leads were in the wrong spot on the dizzy.
Not in the wrong order, just in the wrong spot.
Why you may ask?
Cause the Dizzy was on the wrong cog.
So a bit of fiddling and we got her running much better.
I am so grateful to the guys for having a look cause now I know it is an ignition problem and it feels so close now, just need to sort out a bit of a flat spot.
Here's the last pic of my 3 torries together, probably the last time I will have 3, at least that's what I've told the boss

So to follow up on the work the guys did this morning, I put in some new spark plugs.
The old ones were black as fr0ck, assuming from the old carby at this stage.
Fired her up and she revs clean as a whistle!!
No splutter, no pause, no massive backfire, just beautiful beautiful red motor music!!
Thanks Dave and Mark, you have made me the happiest fr0cker in the shed.

Tried to get a permit to take her for a bit of a spin but....
So, took her for a quick spin round the um...back yard, and very happy.
First time I have been able to get it into top gear since I've had it.
Rego not far away now.
I am spewing a bit cause I can't drive my 4 door either, I put the GTR wheels on there which are the standard wheels but widened.
They look grouse but I have confirmed the reason for the flared guards on the green machine.
I didn't get out of the driveway before they rubbed on the guards, I couldn't even see a bump there, so back in the shed it went

It also looks like you need to buy a bigger hammer

Did you use the compressed air to get them out or just more effing hammers?

Now pull them apart
Don't mix the bits up
And give them a soak overnight in metho

As in separate the calipers into 2 bits?
Ok, if you say so.
Yes I used compressed air but the side opposite to where the brake line attaches didn't want to budge on either caliper.
The hammers are just for show.

Split in half, all the bits together in separate containers soaking in...thin air...
I can't find any metho so off to Bunnings in the morning I suppose.

Problem solvered.
Now to get it to cruise at 60, it really doesn't like it.
Thanks heaps for your help and expertise Datto, the tips you gave me made it a breeze!

Some more pics I took while doing the seals in my brake calipers.
First time I've done this so it was sort of fun.
I wouldn't want to do it all the time though.
Split the calipers

Drives good now, but the nut behind the wheel is holding it back a bit.

He says the wiring is a bit of a mess which I already knew, and he also said I'm lucky I didn't burn the thing to the ground which I sort of knew but wasn't sure.
Gotta go back once I get a reversing switch to finish the last couple of bits.
Took Lachy (my 11 and a half year old) for his first spin while I have a permit and he had an ear to ear grin.

That's the one Craig. Late LC, LJ and HQ. The later type switch has the wires attached to the switch.

No idea what my box is out of though, originally was an Opel.
Does that matter a lot?
