As above suggests Iwant to keep the original Bosch dissy in the torry 6 cyl to keep it looking original. Had a look on ebay and found  some, but not sure which to use and are they any good?

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers, John.

What kit did you get Ignitor I or II? What sort of coil do you have? Primary winding resistance?

I got an Ignitor II. I was going to go for the Ignitor III however the rep said for my application the II would do the trick nicely. (I also didn't need the rev limiter.) I am using a MSD Blaster 2 coil and am going to remove the Ballast resistor. There are lots of questions on the net about keeping or removing the resistor so I emailed Pertronix. The tech guy emailed me back and said with that coil i could ditch the resistor.

I will put up a post/how to install guide when it arrives.

I ordered an Ignitor II with a Flame Thrower coil to suit. It should arrive around 7th or 8th Aug. kudu that would be great if you could post up the install guide. Another question I have is regarding the timing, do I adjust it as per Holden specs and do I keep the vacuum advance?

Thanks Fellas.

John.

I have got the kit now but I'm just in the middle of moving house so I won't be able to put it in till next weekend...hopefully! I am going to see how it goes with the timing. If it seems out I will take it to a mechanic to check. I don't have Vac Adv on mine so I'm not sure about that part.

Generally you leave the plugs at stock gap. Increasing the gap will give you a longer spark, but it will also be weaker.

Yeah you could open them up. I'll have to scratch my head as to what gap exactly but with your fancy coil you are getting you could probably open them up a little bit and get away with it.

Just received the ignitor II and coil, piece of piss to install. With the magnetic sleeve I can see that it only goes one way which is alright, but when fitting it over the shaft you wriggle and turn so it slides down onto the lobes this is right? How much force is needed as I don't know how strong they are?

Thanks in advance. John.

Just another question. The instructions state, WARNING do not use solid core spark plug wires with the Ignitor II  ignition system. Now my question is, I don't know if my spark plug leads are these type. I do know that they are reproduction Packard leads that would of been fitted at the Torana factory when new, I bought them from Rare Spares.

Thanks again for your help, John.
