We are awaiting the final fit up testing of the LX SS front spoiler pre-production sample this month.

Unfortunately with regard to the 2pcs A9X type front spoiler I have been unable to find a good, genuine front spoiler set to use for the tooling development as of yet so I am still waiting for a good Samaritan.

Edan

as far as the a9x good samaritan goes

with these two piece front spoilers

being genuine plastic and probably worth $2000 plus

and i am led to believe very rare!

any good samaritan i imagine would

want an iron clad guarantee that it would be returned intact

undamaged and without any unnesessary court action

to prove ownership

or you forfeit 50% of the rare spares company

just my opinion

a9x868, I understand where you are coming from. We do not like to 'borrow' samples due to this reason, we only do this usually if being made locally and we have control of the process - which we do.

The good samaritans, generous enthusiasts that do help us with samples are often long time friends which have had an association with Rare Spares. However we are always looking for people who can assist us with the development of products as the job is often very hard without these sort.

greenSShatch, I should have an update shortly as the one piece LX SS front spoilers are under production and shouldn't be far away at all for delivery to us.

The other thing you have to consider to is that once someone gives up their rare item to be copied they are going to lose money because it won't be so rare anymore.

SS ashtray is a case in point.

I wouldn't worry too much Craig. Most genuine OEM NOS replacement parts will always command better prices than repro parts. The purists don't like to accept anything less than genuine.

That's because the NOS part is less likely to give you a headache when fitting it up. Mind you I have seen NOS parts that are around only because they are the QA fails that have been rejected by others at some time in it's existence. They are now scratched, slightly dented, a bit rusty, warped etc. Normally you can find them on EEEEECK-bay as you can not check them out before you get stuck with them.

Just got to be careful that reproduction parts are not created from these NOS duds.

BTW FWIW, I have "donated" a number of good NOS parts to RS for the greater good!

We have had some unexpected delays with the first production run, they have likely been delayed a couple more weeks while the final trimming process is completed.

These spoilers have taken a tremendous amount of fine tuning due to the many radi/curves present.

Sorry all for the further inconvenience, I'll be sure to post up here once they are in the warehouse ready to go.

bullitA9X, I can tell you 100% without a doubt that is not the case - but none the less if they have gone broke between 5 minutes ago and now I have problems!

They are just getting a final trimming run undertaken to ensure they conform as best as possible to body shape. A couple of weeks is the estimate as it is a manual process and it is in the production queue.

Thanks

Edan

bullitA9X, they are being kitted with screws and packaged as we speak. They should be available for order in a matter of days I'd say.

Well after waiting nearly 4 months from the date Rare Spares said the front spoiler would be ready it came in today. But after trial fitting it on the car it turns out spoiler is 10mm shorter on driver's side than the passenger side.

Passenger side fits perfect but cos it's shorter on driver's side it won't fit around wheel arch.

Anyone else had problems with theirs?
