also 1mm @ 100amps is a bit excessive.

he is working with 3mm in the video.

the old rule of 1 amp per 1 thou still applies to this test.

Enjoyed the videos Jason, thanks. Never stop learning, even at my age (hehehe).

Had to cut out the area between the numberplate recess and the tail light bucket. Once again used rounded edges with a holesaw to initiate the shape.

I've been using the pedal pretty consistently recently so can't talk about amps. The prep is certainly where the time is. Been working hard this week and have both panels made up and fitting nicely. Tacked one in tonight.

I imagine its gunna be a pretty complicated linkage setup for your brakebooster....should tidy the engine bay up nicely, though.

A very keen eye would have noticed the wiper linkages sitting in the boot also. Perhaps these will actuate the booster? Hmmm...

Booster in the boot reminds me of the Bob Morris Alan Jones Group C Falcon

Had 2 brake boosters in the boot.

Definitely half as gay with the power it would make.
But twice as gay with the double burble of twin boxof engines. 😊

Ah so it would even itself out and simply be as gay.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Twice as gay would be a boxer engine in the back and a rotary in the front.

looks like your heat transfer is getting less.. are u moving faster?

also the home hobby sandblasting kits would be very hand for cleaning up the paint etc around where u need to weld.

I'm always trying to move as quickly as possible but because I've got nowhere to rest my hand etc. and the gap varies a bit, it isn't all that easy! I didn't experiment with other tungstens or nozzles but did turn the gas down a little.

Just some better photos of the welds on the flat panels the other day.

Actually getting a better TIG nozzle this weekend with the gauze etc. like the ones the guys on YouTube always rave about. Too bad I've already done basically all of the external welding.

gas lenses are great. they provide so much better shielding than a standard nozzles..

its all i ever use. #7 for me for most work,,

if you have the $$ the stubby lenses are pretty good also. they make the tig head so much smaller and bit easier to get around tight spots.

tig fingers are a great help. allowing you to rest you finger on the job without burning yourself.

For anyone interested in the Chaser I mentioned a few pages ago who hasn't seen them before etc. here is a video on one that's pretty siilar to mine - just a few more aftermarket bits. I know many of you blokes don't know what a JZ is but you can hear one screaming in this video hahaha

You should have invited him drifting the other night lol.

Well I'm gonna cut the false floor out of this car to change the height of it. Would have been nice to do this when the tail lights were out but... oh well!

G'day Heath, do you think you should fit those shock tower braces out of an LX if you're gonna lower the floor?

I'm just wondering if the floor may have been raised (and that flat section filled) to allow more support between the wheel arches because they wanted to delete those upper braces for some reason?
