Thanks. 10.5 Litres volume.
Just mocked up the steering, and the lower Uni joint is hitting one of the primaries. Not happy.
Clearance it with a hammer sir #itmakesnodifference

Wow all that good work on the collectors to get good flowing exhaust through the extractors then you flog it with a club to narrow it.

The Engine Masters video on the topic suggests it makes no difference and I'm fairly convinced.
Cut the 1/2" stainless bar with some mitres and put together some engine mounts:
Can't finish my exhaust without my diff housing, currently with a diff shop that is going to put some negative camber into it but they're taking their sweet arse time.
Next area... thought I'd inspect the inside of the roof. All looks pretty good!
Hmmm what's happening here?
Looks like a nice clean slate.
This is how I view the audience of this thread now:

why not heat shrink the housing yourself when the car is on the alignment machine. Much more accurate and easy to do. You can also set your toe and thrust angle at the same time.

Your not doing it right then. I had to do heat shrinks on car & truck diff housings and trailer tube axles on a weekly basis. We never preloaded the axles. By heat shrinking only we often moved the camber 45 minutes and the toe in/out by 4 mm. We used to get a lot of 4x4s from panel shops that already had their diff housing straightened from diff specialists, which were always miles out. When they were out by more than 1 1/2 degree we would cold bend them first but in most cases this also moved the toe, so we had to heat shrink them to fix this as well, at the same time we worked the thrust angle. I all depends where and how wide you make the heat shrinks. In cases where the camber had to be moved a lot we would do 5 or 6 shrinks 1 inch apart.

Headers are not as bad as they looked, I thought you'd be re-routing the primary pipe to tuck it in tighter. Never hesitate to cut up brand new parts to make them better :-)
Not sure I like that particular style of sunroof, very bulky looking and a excessive trim around it. But I like the idea.

Put the Pro-Flows on a mates XY had to mod heaps (banged steering box and frame) to get them to fit, he ended up going Pacemakers as the Pro-Flows hung too low.

I'd be converting it to a T-top myself....

Two aerial holes - spoont! I'd own this thing in a second.
I think I'd need to hear feedback on the Torana ones specifically, and I couldn't find a whole lot of discussion about them.
Agree about the sunroof, it needs to be complemented with a second one behind it to look any good.

A NO for a sunroof from me

Like your work Heath, that exhaust thing is interesting and I would like to hear it one day.
If you making everything lighter can you just remove the roof and fit an alloy roll bar or a pop up one from an old SLK Mercedes? Or a retractable hard top, surely there is a wrecked Peugeot in a wrecking yard with all the bits.
Keep it up, looking forward to the next install

I'm sure Heath is just taking the piss about the sun roof.
Isn't he?
Posted 12 September 2017 - 02:19 AM
Surely Heath would TIG-up his own out of Aluminum Oxynitride (aka transparent aluminium)?

Damn, I hope you keep it Heath, this is one of my favourite build threads!
