Going to be interesting to weigh this thing when it's all done.
Im interested too, hope Heath has saved all the swarf to weigh what he actually took out of it.
Top build though very very impressive

Haha Brett, thankfully only a few bolts hold that scoop on mate. I very much look forward to the experience of driving around with exposed stacks!
My hatch is the Royale with Cheese of Shitbirds. UC SL/E Sunbird with metallic paint, factory Antisun glass, intermittent wipers, rear window demist, carpet on the bottom of the doortrims etc. Would have been a pretty nice place to be (for an Aussie car) back in 1978.
I'm up to about 110kg of weight saving in my spreadsheet so far, over a more typical similar Torana build (with no weight saving efforts). That will be the lion's share (and there's virtually nothing in the sheetmetal holes BTW)
A V8 Torana with a big wheels, decent sized brakes, big fuel tank, some chassis reinforcement, and enough grunt and driveline durability to bake the tyres in several gears all day long is still not a featherweight car. But hopefully mine will be at least 5-10% lighter than its contemporaries, with 0 functional compromises as a roadcar. That's all I was ever going for and I'm on track to get some good results from that I reckon.

I saw what you were doing with your induction so made my own purchase from EFI Hardware of a set for my LS powered project, which I wont name for fear of ridicule and being made fun of. LOL.
Cheers

Very glad to hear. They sure make some bloody nice gear. Four barrels are so boring.
Finally started laying some colour down over the weekend. Feels great.
Mostly finished in 500 dry. One coat of wet on wet primer to fill any little scratches.
BBQ-202 lives again:
Or does it?

This is why good painters get paid such big money.
See what happens to the consistency of the paint colour and quality across different parts of the car just based on the smallest difference in air pressure or gun settings?
Looks like some people just have to learn the hard way...........

Based on the Trim choice I'm guessing either Papaya orange or Manderin red is the chosen colour
