You guys need to get your eyes checked. Valencia? Manderin Red?
Looks more like GM-H Ultra Blue to me.
Carefully assembled my door hinges with the plated hardware and brass bushes. Not very easy with nice paint! Need a few tiny touch-ups.

Well done Heath you could jump into that colour, it's that deep. The prep time was well spent.

Looks good I think??? I know its Orange under all that photoshopping but my brain is confused and I can't visualize it still...
Door hinges look really nice...

Thanks guys. Yeah it's a bloody fantastic feeling.
The smashing of a perfect front spoiler against an obstacle seems... inevitable. So yes, doing two spoilers was a no brainer for me.
For the orange fans, there's still plenty of orange. You just don't see much of it when the car is closed.

Haha, so I guess I lost some subscribers there.
A fellow forum member sourced some VT 5.0L pulleys which use the 4PK Multi-Rib design. Wow, that crank pulley is a monster... 3.66kg of cast iron with the air con and power steering pulley sections on there.
Yuck!
Took the front V section off to begin with:
Flipped it over to remove the rear 4PK section:
Turned it back around and tapered the bore out:
Slid that onto my Romac balancer spigot.
And the cast iron water pump pulley... couldn't do a lot with this. Took a little material off the inside on the lathe and drilled another set of holes in both pulleys.
Crank pulley lost about 1.7kg at least.
Picked up a VT Alternator pulley, at least this piece is machined steel rather than cast. A bit different to my 'V' pulley that the alternator came with:
Fixed the offset of that, and tapered the inside and back of it while on the lathe of course:
Picked up a missing balancer bolt for the crank, cleaned it up and machined it into a taper to save more precious grams.
lol, okay now we're really splitting hairs.
Dug out a V8 Alternator Bracket that I'd had lying around:
Gave it a once-over:
Mocked up the assembly:
Did a little J.B. weld type repair on a broken edge of the pulley, and filled the drilled hole:
Painted up in some engine enamel.

Keep getting carried away with shit like this...
Got inspired by seeing some Nascar bellhousings for sale.
Dug my Dellows unit out:
Flattened of all the un-used bosses and went ham with the holesaw and die grinder. All done by hand. Took a while lol.
Made a hole for the flexible clutch line:
Then had it hydro-blasted:
Bit nicer than how it started!
Drilled some holes in the water pump pulley flange, deburred the casting ejector pin marks, and had it hydro blasted at the same time:
Gave the window rails in the doors a once over:

Here's one I was working on for a while.
Last time you saw my console it would have looked like this:
It features this pretty useless area:
And well... I don't know about you guys but I don't mind having a black beer at arm's length on occasion when I'm driving a sweet car. Toranas have always sucked for this.
Spent time some time at the wreckers looking for a simple looking cup holder that suits a stubbie. Not much available. After agonising over it for a while, I picked up two sets:
I needed to lower the centre of gravity of the beer, so I made a hybrid which was much deeper, and used the small diameter (to act as a more positive location at the base of the beer bottle) as the lower section. Then I retained the 4-paw cup holder assembly for the top half, but dis-assembled it, and shimmed up each of the paws with a small plastic spacer (not pictured) to increase the preload on the spring and therefore the centreing force on the beer bottle.
Cut into the console and mocked up the position:
Glued it thoroughly from all angles, and added some gussets for lateral loading support.
Then made a template of the fascia required, and jumped on Solidworks.
Had it 3D Printed:
Sand and high fill to smooth some of the surface out, and started painstakingly hand-cutting a sacricial repro SS glovebox fascia for the low sheen portland grey metallic finish:
Painted it black, with silver trim around the edges:
Adhered the fascia, obviously to match an SS dash if you were not paying attention:
Install 70's GM Repro 5spd H-Pattern aluminium sticker, and install in console:
Phew. Nice to tick that off the list.

Nice that cup holder console came up awesome
I'm a bit disappointed you didn't drill some holes through those window rail channels though.

Interesting, I have been pondering cup holder designs for the four door console, I'd like to fit two but struggling to find the real estate

Have you got a FUIC adapter for your console?
Have a look at the 100 series Landcruiser twin cup holders. There are two round ones side by side, but when you pull out the funny shaped divider between them, the square cardboard drinks containers fit perfectly.

Best thing about having a cup holder is that you can use a RAM mount adapter...
