I had thought the same thing Rexy. Or maybe tack weld them to the wheel. Or be really smart and follow the guidance of the second paragraph, ie making an adaptor ring out of alloy but incorporating it into a spacer. Something like the attached. These are to fit Simmons onto BA-BF brakes with 5/4.75" stud pattern. The ring would be only 1.1mm thick, it's been strengthened by incorporating it into a plate that sandwiches between the wheel and the disc. The idea is you put these on the Simmons wheels and lock them in place with the wheel studs, keeps the rims co-centric with the hub.

Hi Guy's,

would the "ring" be only 1.1mm thick enough give it strengthen

Regards Mando.

Why wouldn't it work? The idea is to keep the wheel in the right place, so it sits co-centric with the hub. The wheel studs then clamp it in place.

I'm not a fan of those as your wheel studs aren't holding the wheel in place.

Hi Yel327,

I don't want to spacers as well.

Would using 5 long studs only so 5 studs with nuts through

onto the spacers then the mag nuts onto the wheels.

Regards Mando.

Thanks mate! Yeah I bought that helmet a while ago and it was a great upgrade. I actually wish I could find an orange Moto 3 but they were discontinued before I started looking, I found the striped one and figured that was still awesome enough.

At some point I want to re-engineer the upper trailing arm mounts, change the oil pump for a Chrysler one with external pick-up, and revise the sump design. But my focus is elsewhere and I and haven't done any repair work on the car. I'm just turning the key and driving it, laying some black lines regularly.

My factory time currently involves being busy building SpeedHut dashes for other Toranas (that took off like crazy since I put that YouTube video up in December). And I do have another project car (but I'm approaching it very differently to the Torana re: mental health & life balance, so I haven't done a lot on it yet).

All very boring, I know. Not much excitement to inject into this thread at the moment. I'm firmly in a different stage of life to where I was a year ago. Working on my house, working towards having a shed, etc.

Looking forward to Toranafest though!

thanks Heath,

Yeah the hobby of cars can become all consuming and you have put a huge amount of time and energy into yours.

hope your not feeling to burnt out, and recharge those batteries.

sounds like your side hustle might be becoming a thing? if you added a couple more torana products, who knows?

we certainly need more products, like those falcon boys, so spoiled.

would you have more details about the Chrysler pump? is that a 265 pump? whats advantage over modded holden pump?

Just enjoy driving it Heath, you can do a Mark 2 build later - that's what I am planning. Ha ha. Just adding "wants" to a whiteboard, then going for a drive.

Look forward to checking your car out at Toranafest. My 383 has the Hercules Engines Mopar oil pump mod, so far so good - though I haven't driven it hard enough yet to really test it out.
