So good. Wasn't surprised, honestly. It's really struck a chord. I hope the engine mods have done the trick, too. đź‘Ť

Awesome award Heath, so good to see a true hand built, driven the shit out of, street machine win instead open check-book no dirty hands builds. Cheers

Congratulations Heath. Very well done mate. Thanks also for the well documented build and the contributions you've made to the wider Torana community.

As Brad just said, a win from a hand built (by the owner) rather than an open cheque book build. Anyone that rolls up their sleeves and gives it a crack themselves gets two thumbs up from me!

Massive congrats on winning SMOTY Heath. Absolutely awesome mate. I imagine you’ve been quite busy just dealing with it all. You now have a permanent place in Australian street machining history, alongside some incredible people and cars.

Thanks so much for all of the on-going and recent support, guys. Some really lovely words in here that warm my soul and make me feel like I'm making the mark I want to make with my car interactions.

I cannot overstate how Winning Street Machine Of The Year is an absolute dream come true.

Apparently it was a win by a large margin, and I don't know if I can attribute that to the clocked miles, how many times it has copped eyeballs in the wild, the competitive use slant, the ideology of the car, the stylistic decisions of the car, the character of me or enthusiasm for telling my story, or simply the fact it's an unadulterated vision and effort of one person in a shed. I hear different people extolling all of those things and they all fill me with pride.

The car of course must mean different things to different people, but taking home the trophy and having a spot marked in the history books with this award means the world to me. It's overwhelming after the invested effort.

Thank you so much. And thank you Street Machine Magazine, plus the awesome sponsors Enthusiast Motor Insurance, and Eagle Auto Parts.

Recently the car has had a few hours put into it as well... but I'll probably tell some of that story at a different time.

Congrats on the well deserved win.

One of the reasons I stopped buying Street Machine regularly a long time ago was because of the cars winning the award.

Or even the car of the issue.

I started off with the mag in the Van Wheels days.

In the early days the cars were predominantly street driven.

The only regularly driven cars were relegated to readers rides.

I found it boring reading about trailer queen pro street cars that could never be legally registered.

It is truly great that you have been recognised for basically a daily driver.

Cheers

Rob
