Hi i thought id share some pics of my console restoration.
It's hard to match all the original grain vinyls/silvers but this is as close as i could get.
Either way im much happier with my efforts as oppsed to some replicas i have seen.
Only thing im unsure of is what grain vinyl to do the shift boot in.
My original sample is shown.
It started with a broken shifter ring which i had to solder.
Then i had holes to fix in console.
The console was recovered by dash doctor.
Also had 5 breaks in the plastic strip so i welded it then painted silver.
used clear too so it should last a while.
The almost finished product.
Shifter ring used chrome paint.
Alomst looks like the brused chrome oirginal.
Sample shifter boot material, Does this seem right for 1/70 gtr adelaide?
