Overriders from factory is interesting I always thought they were a dealer or nasco option???
Standard on all SS I believe, possibly an option on other models

Ha Ha notice the lack of any OH&S gear..spraying with no mask, ear muffs etc
Love the 70's - OH&S wasn't that a recreational drug?
Flares for the cars Flares for the people

30 odd years ago I looked at a HK GTS 186S Monaro that was original owner with books.
I lifted the bonnet and pointed out signs of pink spray putty on the R/H front guard (barely visible but there)
Owner assured me it had never had a bingle?
Did GMH do repairs on the line?

In that era, people weren't as fussy as they are these days, it was a big thing to buy a brand new car & most wouldn't have picked any touch ups. Working for a GMH dealer, I repaired plenty of brand new cars with transport damage etc. I remember doing a full repaint on a brand spankers Sting red VX Clubsport because it came straight from GMH & HSV with paint defects all over. GMH would pay us around $4000 for a full repaint under internal warranty. In house we called it "policy rectification". From my understanding, if a new car is damaged & repaired, it is no longer classified as a "new" car & is supposed to be sold as used or demonstrator. If the dealers or parent companies stuck to this, they'd lose money, so I guess it is & probably was back then to, "better the devil you know".

So...……..the lovely missus was asked to go to go on a short errand down to Bunnings to fetch a couple of things...……..
3hrs later she arrives home with a car load of EVERYTHING including 11 strips of turf that they were throwing out for $1
All good, she saved me a trip down there.
So the next day the job was to vacuum out the boot of the VY.
I found these stickers? The build date says the car was completed 4/6/03
