Have been doing a bit of work on the C pillar sections for hatchbacks. Just need to make a few final adjustments to make sure that I'm happy with them.
The first photo shows the C pillar and roof of a hatchback torana that I am cutting a few parts off (trust me the car couldn't be saved). The top section of the pillar including the drip rail came off in my hands as I was cutting the pillar to get the roof off.
You can clearly see the rusty section underneath which is actually the top section of the quarterpanel.
The second photo shows me trail fitting the upper quarterpanel section. Close but need to make a few small changes. Someone mentioned earlier in this post about the curve in the C pillar. I put my steel ruler on the inside of the pillar and there was only about 0.5mm gap at the top. The section I am making is just below where the pillar curves up near the roof so it is easier for me to make.
Photo three I sat what was left of the top section of the pillar back in place to see what it would look like, and that section I will try and replicate tomorrow.
Will put some pics up in the next few days showing the final product, but if anyone is interested in these sections let me know.
Cheers, Grant

I would love to do the section at the rear edge of the hatch that supports the hinges. I cut one out of one of my cars but it was so bad it fell apart in my hands and is no good to get measurements off, so I need to cut one out of another one of my hatches to copy. If you need other parts made let me know as I am looking at other things to work on.

Just picked up my C pillar repair sections from Grant today. He's done a great job and they look the goods. Here's a photo but not too flash. Grant may have some better one's. Once I get them fitted I will post some more. Thanks again Grant. Cheers Ron

Hey everyone,
If anybody needs C-pillar sections for their hatchbacks I am free to make some, either the full section or just the inner folded section. Or does anyone have any suggestions on other rust replacement sections they need for their toranas or other cars. Let me know what you need.
Cheers, Grant 0478 732274

Hi Neil,
I've made a few of the caps at the end of the A-pillars. For one of my cars I need to make some sections around the front windscreen as well. They won't be too difficult.

Tops OK I think
Its the bottom I think I have issue with
Tried to buy a pillar recently but deal never went thru
And the hinge area was bad on mine too... for the hatch

My panel guy has finished repairing the C pillar with parts from Grant. He says it's a difficult section of the car given the number of panels that come together there but the parts worked, however it's not just a cut and paste type scenario (or not with my car), you have to work through what actual piece of the part you need, if that makes sense. One thing that became apparent is there is a slight curve, as mentioned by someone earlier, that you have to consider and adjust for. When I get some photos I will post them. Thanks Grant. Cheers Ron
