Have a set of the Globe Spintmaster rims,  the ones with "6JJx13"embosed on the face of the blackouts.

The wheel nuts that I have look nothing like that available on eBay (there is no shank) and the ones I have are rusted and need replacing.

Any Suggestions?

I bought some off eBay and had to return them cause they didn't fit. I then bought these ones, they fit and presume they're ok? The rims have chamfered edges. Couldn't find a size that fitted inside the rim hole. I think there is a difference between CSA and Globe sprintmasters.

My mistake in the original post, mine would Have to be CSA, especially since it has the casting on the front of the rim.

Neither of the nuts in the above pictures are correct for the CSA sprintmasters. My CSA sprintmaster nuts have T104 stamped on them, they are the tapered seat type and have the locating shank that goes into the stud hole in the wheel.

I'll post up a pic when I can find my spare nuts. I know they are hiding in a box somewhere lol.

replaced all of my nuts and flat washers the other month.

Yep, they have the longish parallel shank on them, with a flat washer that sits inside the  machined recess on the wheel.

I was careful to measure the existing ones and the washers carefully, then took the digital verniers with me to the shop, so only had to go there once.

Looked on Eboy etc, ended up going to Autobarn and they had them in stock.

They seemed to have trays of heaps of different nuts and washers ( all not on show, but behind counter).

They also had a board with most types/sizes of wheel studs on it, so you could be confident they were going to fit your threads.

p.s. think it was about $68 ?? all up for 25 nuts and washers

Had another look today, the spare (was bought separately) fits a 17mm shank but this is too big for the four rims on the car, which as close as I can see would only fit a 15mm or a smidge bigger.

All rims have the same part number, 60135A (guessing it is part number), have the raised letters 6JJx13.

The one that fits the 17mm shank has what looks to be a date of 20 10 67 whilst the others are in the late 90's.
The ones in the 90's have TORANA stamped on the inside.

I guess the possibility exists of seeking our a rim shop to see if it is simply a matter of having them drilled out to accept a 17mm shank.

The wheel nut that I first posted about does tend to chew out the metal.

Any thoughts.

Went to the rim/wheel guys this afternoon, said they could drill out the rims to match the spares 17mm, or put plugs in the spare to match the others.  The 17mm wheel nuts seem the go.

Not cheap, (100 a rim, which includes r/r the tyre), but I have seen their work on other mags first hand and they do very nice work, almost flawless.

Can't figure out any reason for the differences between the two difference size stud holes on something with the same part number (if that is what it is).

Dave
Those are suitable for the wheels requiring 17.20mm shank. He has another repro that has a 15.55mm shank. Those he calls Sprintmaster GTR 2. Have ordered a set of those to try. If they work will just get inserts put into the spare.

Still curious regarding the two different shank sizes.

Those look sort of like the old ET mag nuts....I have about 5000 NOS ones of those in the shed at the moment actually ,lol..  (in 7/16" that is)

They look like this, but are about 15.66 mm or so diameter..

These are the ones I returned, too big at the base. I checked out his other version from pics and measurements and they were wrong too.

These look correct for my rims, do you want to sell some of those 5000?

I would like to sell all of them, actually lol..  :)

(actually, think I might have close to 6000 ? but don't feel like counting them at the moment :badabing: )

That pic by the way was one of them I just took....so they don't look "like" that as I wrote, but are that....to be clear.

By the way...those ones on ebay are $130  (plus $12 in shipping) for one set of lug nuts??? Really ? :o

Do they come with a topless swimsuit model to install them for you with a gold plated wrench ? lol...

Yep....a small flat rate priority air post box (holds 4 pounds) is $25 to there though....so no problems posting them if you wanted them :)

I just sent some bits to Welby, to bad didn't know them, could have tossed 20 nuts in with his stuff, ha ha..

Some years ago I ordered a set of new wheel nuts for my sprintmasters and was given the exact same nuts that Jeff has. They don't fit my sprintmasters, the shank is too small in diameter + shorter and the seat taper is wrong angle.

Good info to know....

I have never tried them on a sprintmaster of course, just mentioned them because they had a similar appearance to the ones in the auction... Hmmmmm...

If it wasn't for the $25 postage, I would just say I will send you over a set to try and just see if they would work or not , then just fix me up if they do the job..

Jeff's nuts on the right and my nuts on the left. Note, my nuts are bigger than Jeff's :D

Error correction in earlier post, my nuts are stamped 40T not T104.

Hoping this size does the job. If it does it will work out cheaper that having 4 rims drilled out to take the 17 mm nut. I'll post the result for those with the need to have smaller nuts.

Hi all,

I have one genuine sprinty on my car and three other from early 1980 or late 70's. The genuine one has 15.?? holes and the later ones have 17mm holes, all are globe with the same part number in the cast. so check your wheels before you drill as they may be the originals and repo's

How do I tell if sprint masters are real/original.
Is there a 72 stamp on the inside ?

Hi Jeff,

Old thread, do you still have some of those nuts for sale? I need a full set for my Sprintmasters and they look like the right nuts.
