Can anyone name to me any part of the L34 or A9X that actually had L34 or A9X on it?
I call bullshit, and so do you. It's not hard to make up a sticker. The red sedan down your way had A9X on the bonnet scoop, so was that genuine?
ah frOck me I will have to give the car back now as I think I have been ripped I was told that sticker was genuine

Yes mate, L34 on the tag and A9X on the the floorpan, but no decals, and A9X has no A9X on the tag.
This a real smart arse answer but the L34 had L34 on the build tag. Not being a smart arse now, I take it that the sticker thing is a bit of BS.

These cars are 36 years old now and a lot of things changed and maybe stickers in gloveboxes peeled off. Shame on you Baron letting the cat out of the bag as that sticker when still fitted showed a unmolested car. I suppose its not a performance enhancement so if its missing there.s no disadvantage. Maybe rares could reproduce it.

It's a wind up, they didn't have them.
Why would it have this sticker anyway?
Posted 14 July 2013 - 08:42 PM
Yet the sticker that you say does not exist, does and was not brought up by me but someone else.
Someone who remembers it from along time ago!

Nope, lets just leave it as a mystery. I'm just not interested anymore and another piece of history can stay in the dark!
Anyway I'm going back to the fishing forums.

Hi Baron, There is no such thing as a A9X sticker in the glove box, of a real 2 or 4 door A9X..There is one way to know a real A9X glove box. That is the sticker on the glove box has to have 14R tyre size printed on it. A9X's were the only Torana with factory 14in wheel's There are repo stickers out there ,but you can tell what's old and new.

Wrong, L34s also had 14 inch rims from the factory. Darky dont go reproducing this sticker. I have kept mine as well, it was all rolled up and peeling off through age etc so I have stored it away in the cars folio.

Sorry Numero Uno I don't know how I forgot the great L34..
Posted 14 July 2013 - 10:06 PM
No worries mate, just another example of how arguably the greatest Torana of all gets forgotten

How come the L34 guys are always defensive? You boys shouldn't still be still upset at Top Gear's exclusion from their latest world taxi challenge. As expressed in their email answer they didn't think the L34's 1964 EH bango diff would get the car off the line and of course the Hyundai Sonata Hybrid being so much faster (than a factory L34) sort of makes it not competitive with much.
Posted 14 July 2013 - 10:26 PM
I would not be letting any one know you used Top Gear as reference material...... L34s won 2 Bathursts...same as A9Xs if memory serves me right. Those ham fisted clowns on Top Gear would break anything they drove except a D9L maybe ? Tried to call you the other day Col, no response.
