Is it a paper sticker?
If it was transferred it would rip or it won't be on cleanly, even with plastic coated paper stickers there'll be a bend or dog ears where the sticker was removed.
s
Not quite paper, more like the type of medium that has a composition that allows the printing process on one side and the application of adhesive on the other. Up close the surface has a slight brown haze as if a lacquer coating has started to degrade.
As the originator of this thread said, he saw it over 20 years ago before I bought the car.
If the sticker was a production line indicator of a change vs the normal, Could have been on things like :-
Diff..to obvious.
Master....to obvious
Gearbox.........yes different & NOT obvious. (driving gear was a blue 9 tooth for 2.6)
Tail shaft.........maybe.
GTS wheel(s)......yes different to normal GTS & not so obvious at a glance.
But I am fairly sure a production worker would not risk the sack or a kick in the pants for such an act.
Pattersons or the delivery Dealer........same thing...the act is not worth the job.
That is why I would think it was done by a previous owner.
But where did it originally come from? I think it is highly unlikely that someone would create and print out a sticker in such a format just to put in a GB. Nope, I am sure it would have come off a spare part unique to the A9X.
When you think that GMH would have outsourced special parts like the body kit. That manufacturer probably put stickers on to identify what was what. Think about it, there were flairs being made by the same manufacturers that did them for other cars. Even the L34 & A9X had different flairs.
Now on page 8 already.
