Ok time for another update........been busy blocking and painting the last few weeks in between going to work and now starting to see results of a seven year resto on old rusty.
Painted some satin black on the front apron and chassis rails
Finished the door appartures and sills ready for the blackouts.
and finally got the shell of the car painted....it came out great...good gloss off the gun.....love PPG paint.
Heres a little vid just after a colour sand and buff

Looks great! A good ad for PPG paint. :-) With the front guards, did you touch the cut lip yourself at all, or is it just the stock guard bend?

The guard has been trimmed just below the stock bend in the wheel arch....left about 12mm just for a bit of strength but still clears my wheels.

Cool, love the video updates and pearls of wisdom in them. My only suggestion is to try and keep the vids around 2mins or so, as people's attention spans these days aren't great... :-)
I am currently fitting my flares, Wilsons as well, and I found the same after they sat for four years or so - a bit warped here and there. I have them on and am now cutting them to clear my 17s. The rears are ok, but the fronts need a bit cut out to clear. Did you need to do much? Once I have them cut and glassed, i will try and get them as clean as yours, as per earlier in your thread. I will get some Re-Face next week.
Keep 'em coming! Not long now.

Hi all, update time again.......its been a while but I've been working on the car every weekend and I'm slowly getting there.....not much to go in regards to paintwork so here's some pics and vids of where I'm up to
Here's Rusty awaiting more black bits
Paintwork is coming up nice
My least favourite job BLOCKING
A bit of black being splashed around
A quick preliminary cut & buff and on the car they go
Rightio time for the guard and nose cone black outs
Ok Ill break this post into 2 parts as its getting a bit long.
The Videos of the blackouts will be in my next post
cheers

Heres the 2nd part of my update post.....vids included.

Heres the final video
This is how you remove the fine line tape correctly to get a razor sharp straight paint edge.
Heres Rusty coming together
Well thats it....a few members have been at me to HURRY UP so here it is lol.
Just the stencils and bottom of flares to go.
Would yous like a video of the stencils being done...it can be arranged.
Cheers
Al
