When you buy it ask them for a demo if you're not sure

one of these things ... you need to make sure it has a 5/16" Coarse thread ... most will come with a couple of different ones
The two smaller holes that are at 2o'clock and 8o'clock are where your two bolts go in ...
and you just have to tighten the middle bolt after you've taken the nut off the steering collumn and it'll come off a treat ...
Cheers

Alternatively, you could bolt the steering wheel back on there, and repeat the method I mentioned in the other thread about steering wheel removal. (free)

Peace,
P.s. Just a tip, leave the centre nut screwed on a couple of turns, that way when the wheel finally comes off, you don't smack yourself in the nose with it

That's a new tech term we can use! "smack the crap out of it"Yeah, just smack the crap out of it at 3 and 9 o'clock and then grab it and really yank it, pulling left and right. Keep going till it comes off. Never needed to use a wheel puller yet

Only problem is one day you will finish up with the steering shaft as well, when you brake the top bearing out of the shell & probably damage the plastic pins in the collapsible column.
Then you will not save money, when you have to buy another shell and steering shaft.
Easier to buy the puller, i have one and it gets used frequently enough to justify.
"Leave the nut on" sounds like you are talking from experience their Liam! did it hurt?
Some things can be smacked and others need a little finesse, I think the steering column is one of those that should be treated a little gently.
My 50c worth.

Columns cost more than pullers...its a dodgy way of doing things and i don't know why people keep recommending it....if you sent your car to me and found me smacking the crap out of your column would you be happy?

Are you referring to the one pictured above? Ive got one of them.....as it was the only one available..........its a little fiddly......but used properly works well.Glad I have the right tool for this job

I suppose if you have no holes on the hub of the steering wheel, then using a multiple purpose puller such as the 3 claw mentioned ^ is one way out. I managed to strip the thead of one of these in my 1st attempt to get a steering wheel off......must have been a light duty one.

My advice to you is to use a proper puller which can be picked up easily at autobahn or such places for like 10 bucks. They are easy to use and saving breaking or damaging the steering column, something that would be much more expensive in the long run.
There, hows that

Only from laughing so hard because it wasn't me that did it but a mate of mine. He's a wog anyway so he didn't mind having his nose reduced down to normal size, lol.
Peace,

The one I have is the correct one for the Saas and other aftermarket wheelsAre you referring to the one pictured above? Ive got one of them.....as it was the only one available..........its a little fiddly......but used properly works well.Glad I have the right tool for this job

It attatches to 4 of the bolts that hold the wheel on to the boss
I'll get a pic
But essentially its a piece of flat steel around 5mm thick or so
It has 4 holes for the bolts and a large centre hole with the screw drive in it
Essentiallt the same as the steering wheel pullers you can buy around the traps but fits exactly on the aftermarket wheels

When I put my wheel on, I forgot to put the indicator return and horn ring in.... can't get the bugger off!
Bought a puller, great for standard wheel (has threaded holes), but of course, my luck, the sports wheel didn't!!
