I did a similar thing on a HR Holden plastic reservoir when I was a youngster.

Stuck a compressor fitting into a lid and screwed it on.

The plan was to pressurise the cylinder with air and push the fluid through.......

Hit the air and blew the whole thing to bits....shit puckin everywhere...

oops........

This is nothing new but I've just used it for the first time today and its magic - pressure brake bleeder made from a $10 weed sprayer and some bits and pieces I had laying around

IMAG0667.jpg

I had one of those but I used it to pump gear oil into the aussie.

Made this out of shed debris to remove and refit the outrigger rubbers in the hatch. The big silver bit is a piston out of an LX caliper.

Hammered in with grease in front?

Yep. Scrape it up and put it back in the "dirty" pot for next time. Using grease seems to help with the wood staying intact compared with the wet newspaper.

I like this wheel stands. Very sturdy!!

How does the spigot removal tool work? What is the newspaper method?

Grease and rolled pieces of newspaper forced in behind spigot then a drift used to push through the bush centre.

Hydraulic pressure pushes the bush out. Easy and effective.

Instead of using grease you can use wet paper  make like a pulp it is very effective and not as messy.

Also have used a sllde hammer to remove the bushes as well.

Im not too sure if this counts as a tool but I whacked this together as a way of moving the shell around the workshop with an earth mover with tow ball attachment.

Just wondering if you accounted for spring compression as well?

Great jig.

Cool looking wheels.

How did they balance up?

On the rear, no, but on the front I did, all I did was take out the spring and move the hub up and down making sure it didn't clash. :)

pretty good, Craig, nothing a little lead wouldn't correct. :)

That Apprentice is my son Stephen and he is a tradesman, but was all good, we had a play day. :D
