Hi guys I thought id show what I been up to.

The lack of good unbroken grills has prompted me to learn the art of aluminium brassing.

This grill was missing the right hand 2 rows down near the latch.

Sorry no before pics when I do the next repair ill post it up.

My car is GTR so when painted black will look the part.

did you have to grind back or treat the anodizing before you welded?

You have to strip anodising before you weld it.

I'm not worried about other people getting into it.

This repair took around 4 hours using oxy and die grinder.

I hope I get better at it soon.

The trouble is the grill  bars will melt with  just a little more heat than the rod melts at.

By the time you seen it happening it's too late.
