hello fellow torana enthusiasts, As some of you already know, about a week ago i bought my 3rd torana this time a lh and just got it delivered yesterday. this one is a unfinished project which has been sprayed up in cadbury purple (not sure if its that colour or different) it also came with brand new headlining, carpet and tyres and mags. however the only real downside is that she is only a 202, However i have a 253 and auto which i will install into it when im finished with it as my mockup dummy block for the lc v8 project. As the project progresses, il keep you all posted.

nice.

looks a bit like ultra blue. UB tends to change hue with light.

in these pics it looks a bit dark to be UB, but in some other pics i've seen of her it looks spot on.

Pretty hard colour to pick from photos

^^^ Funny ya say that Makka, he went on for a week about how good your car was after he had a ride in it! lol, Colour looks nice, how much cars do you have, like 6 or 5?

just a bit of a quick update, Today, as makka would know ^_^

was a bit of a crap day spitting rain etc and had friends over so work got delayed a bit.however had her running for about 15 seconds but conked out as shes out of fuel but she sounds meatier than the lj's 202 ^_^

if tomorrow pans out as i hope it to il get some fuel and give her a tune up and get her running smoothly.

UPDATE: well after attempting to get the 202 to run smoothly and failed i have decided that something bad must be wrong (screwed valves) and finding out she was topped up with too much oil and about 1/2 of the oil was water!!! however i did have it running but it was missing like hell and didnt sound healthy at all

so in the next few weeks il be doing an engine swap with a 253/auto i have sitting in the shed

i am wondering if il need to shorten the tailshaft as i have been told it wont need to be

Sounds good buddy. You will not need to shorten the tailshaft btw.
Are you changing the box? or does it already have that auto in it?

You got the right radiator for the LH/LX V8 (hoses on opposite side), and you may want some V8 rated springs

at the moment shes a traumaitc with a 202 and yes i have a hq radiator here and a vk commodore one as well which would cool a v8 springs however i may need

well the passenger gaurd arrived today and bolted her on (thats why theres no pictures of that side ) shes a but F%^ked the gaurd has a dint and seems to be a kind of warped however now all i want to do is whack in the 253 clean it up a little bit and get it registered and have fun!!!

A mate used to have a hatch in that purple with black bonnet. Stood out like dogs balls at the lights with that purple and a meaty V8 in it!

update : sprayed up the dash today as the white dahs didnt do anytihng for me ive also begun removed the accessories from the engine bay ready for the enigne swap also changed the rims to some old volvo ones as i didnt want the good ones out in the weather

update : on the weekend just passed finally fixed up the steering lock problems and got that all fixed up starting to look likea lh again

also changed the sump back to the hq one and gettingready for the day of the engine swap

more pictures should be up in a few days when i get time to take some

due to commitments at work this weekend was delayed from the engine swap fingers crossed for next weekend

got the car turned around to make it easier and just fixed up some of the small jobs

UPDATE: well this weekend was finally the weekend i have been awaiting for on saturday morning went and got a engine crane and .... long story short after a whole heap of swearing and work we finally got the v8 into the lh and also the 308 into the monaro shell

i might be able to get some photos on tuesday afternoon
