Hainzy, if you see any GMH assembled 1967 or 1968 Impala or Parisienne with the bonnet open, and you have the time and the patience can you grab a few photos (with the owner's permission)? You'll know if they are GMH assembled as the BODY and VIN plates will say General Motors Holden's on them.

Info I'm looking for:

Photos of plates (to correlate the build timeframe for the other data as the 1968 cars were built up into 1970 by GMH).

Engine number if original engine (more important for 1967 but 1968 numbers are gold too as they fit in amongst HK-HG SBC numbers).

Photo of cast mark on the front of the cylinder head (either side).

Photo of the carby number. These carbys have different style numbers on them to what you are used to. The 1967 carbs have a round circle with a stamped insert in it on the Aussie passenger's side on the side of the fuel bowl. The 1968 carbs have a number in the spot you'd be used to (HK GTS327 are 7027213 DZ so the auto engine will be a similar number), but also have a 4 x digit date code on the base towards the firewall from the secondary throttle shaft, something like 2677.

Any of this will be very helpful, it is very hard to find these cars together in one location in Australia. I tried at the Pontiac Nationals a few years back but only found one 1968 GMH assembled Parisienne. Being all GM there might be a chance of a few Chevrolet badged bodies as well as Pontiac. We are trying to nail the specification for these 1967 4BBL 327 and 1968 L73 engines as they are oddballs in some ways to their US Chevrolet or Canadian SBC design engine counterparts. The 1967 engines are very hard to find info on as they were a COPO only option in 1967 in the USA, and so far those here appear to be a random mix of Flint and McKinnon components.

I'll try and put up some links, but can't do it from this PC as this forum doesn't work properly with the latest Microsoft operating system.
