I have 235kW at the treads, which is 315HP at the treads, Which I think roughly is 425HP at the fly?
Cheers
What kind of HP you got at the fly?
I had 400HP at the fly when the engine was dyno'ed after its rebuild. I would expect that HP to be higher maybe 410-420 now that the engine has been run in and its freed up a bit now. I haven't taken it down the track yet but I am hoping to soon once I feel confident the car is safe to do so. When I do though I am hoping to get mid 12's and if I do that I will look at a few options maybe to get it into the 11's. I have a 3.55 diff ratio so I have a bit to play with there.

Yeah so we have much the same power, I am thinking we should get low-mid 12's, if I get in the 12's I will play with some stuff to try and get in the 11's. What gearbox have you got?

If you can get it to run mid-low 12's with a street setup than you're doing well. You'll quickly realise it's not so easy cracking 11's or whatever the car should be capable of.Generally auto cars well set up can be few tenths off the mark & manuals up to o.5secs off the mark due to variables.
Takes time with patience & practice not to mention making sure car is well set up for intended use.

2 of our club members went to the drags a few weeks ago at Eastern Creek, one with 410 horses at the tyres, and best for the day was 12.3 @ 120mph, the other was 345 horses at the tyres, and he had 11 inch slicks and ran 12.1 @ 109mph. Basicly one got good traction with slicks, auto and stall, the other had a manual and not much traction. Lots of horse power but was setup for street.

i use to run 11.5s 11.6s @ 117-118 mph with just on 400hp at the flywheel with my old engine...i've seen torana's with less power and in manual run high 11s in well set up cars

When you say well set up cars can you go into a bit more detail as to what these cars had to obtain these sorts of times unclefestal34s? Will be helpful for me in the future bud.

well for starters fine tuning,.set of 90-10 shocks soft rear springs (sunbird or old 6 cylinder rear springs) ,,correct diff ratio and generally locker diff or full spool..and depending on your engine the right ratio gearbox also helps...a lot of it is trial and error...a lot of cars i see are over geared which doesn't allow the engine to work to its full capacity..one simple thing when you have a very torquey engine is to short shift from first to second gear..hope this helps you
