hey, I broke my 5 speed borg warner gear box today stripped the gears its running in my 1973lj torana with a worked 202

what gear box should I replace this with so it doesn't happen again? im also thinking of changing the diff so I can get better top end the current diff gets very loud at about 140km and vibrates quite a bit. what gear box/diff combination should I get? the gear box must be manual. the car is owned by a 19yr boy so it does get thrashed so need strong parts

cheers blair

$1000 aint gunna get you far might cover a diff
if you change gearbox you will need to change everything to suit the new gearbox get another $2000 depends on what gearbox you get

Try and find a Toyota 4 speed. They are not very popular so can be cheapish. I had one when I was your age and used to hell toe it all over town and it loved the torture.

Now you will need a bell housing to suit 202 there goes $ 500
and all the rest of the parts for this conversion

I got 2 boxes 2 bell housings and a drive shaft for $500 one of the bell housings is off a holden motor aswell so that should bolt straight on. just need to work out what needs to be done to my drive shaft, how to get the clutch working (whats the best to go for cable, hydrolick or rod) and then get the speedo working

and alter my cross member to suit new gear box
