That's nice work Jonesy,

Pretty much identical power figures to my 202 combo.

Who did the dyno and do you have a print out? I'm interested to compare the torque and power curvs.

Cheers.
Was yours injected?
I had Specialty Tuning do the work on it, they always have, & Neville does a great job.
I do have a dyno printout but it's still with Nev, I'll have it by the weekend tho.

Alrighty then.

So I got the tune up done today, super impressed with the work that went in to making it perform. Had to modify the springs in the dizzy & reset timing again, check & set all carby jets, idle, dashpot oil etc etc. Fitted a richer - read WAY richer - set of needles. Went from my old faithful TP set to RH.
Anyways, got 152.7kw n/a out of it. A bit over 200hp at the wheels in the old scale.
Now let me tell you that was nowhere near the 7k+ rpm I was expecting, it was 32 degrees & we were spraying water over the su bowls to keep them cool.
So on account of it being so f-ing hot, things were against us for running the gas without worrying about everything, so we finished up. Might give it another go in the new year on a cooler day, but for now, time to clock up some km's.

stout - well done.

nice to see a 202 build thread.  There should be more...

Just thought i'd throw up the copmarison between the TP needles (bottom) I was running compared to the RH needles (top).

The AO6 & AO7 needles are the ones in between.

And the dyno printout - yeah i know its not 152.7 but this was the cleanest run...

Cheers, Adam.

Yeah Adam they got 198cfm @ .550 lift out of it, more than enough for my combo, quality work too.
As far as knowing their stuff, I'd be interested to see who knows more...

Nice Jonesy!

I knew that combo had 200RWHP in it. It will be interesting to see how it likes cooler weather and some gas.

I think it will like it REAL good...

Just doing the post dyno stuff at the mo, changing plugs, oil & filter, adjusting tappets, fixing teeny coolant leaks, stuff like that.
While it was getting dynoed, worked out we weren't getting accurate readings at the tailpipe so had an o2 sensor bung welded in just after the extractors.
So now I'm thinking of making or getting some kind of gauge running off a sensor to see what's happening under load. More so for tuning the gas while I'm doin nothing....

Jump onto summit and pick up a LM2.

While your there just to top up the package grab a Gtec Pro SS as well.

Best money you will spend.

I've bought one of those lm2's but haven't got around to using it, have you used one with any success in your old boat? Would the gtech work for me with the rise of the hull on launch?

The LM2 is how i tuned the old boat. It would still be sitting there running on four spluttering when you tap the throttle if it wasnt for it.

The Gtech works a bit funny on boats, very hard to do the quarter mile thing because the Gtech demands you get totally stationary, this generally takes about 2 minutes of floating there waiting lol. The HP runs are usefull though, though probably not totally accurate on water.

Cheers.

Be careful where you place the O2 sensor in a boat, as the sensor will not last long if hit with water while it's in use.

If you need to purchase Innovate stuff, try this http://highway66spee...pe=2&sortItem=7

There prices are similar to the USA but less the freight.

I did all my own tuning with the o2 sensor just after the extractors. Best thing you will ever buy.

just for comparison here is my dyno sheet showing very similar peak hp.

I have since tweaked the tune a fair bit since this was done but I imagine the peak hp would still be the same.

Similar dyno results as mine, within a couple of hp.

Warren,

Does the shape of your curve look more like Jonesy's?

You run tripple su's as well don't you?

It's interesting to see how the different induction and head packages behave.

It looks like the 9 ports really come on hard in their sweet spot, whereas the 12 port is more of a constant increase.

That looks like a fairly strong top end you've got there Adam, I still haven't driven mine since it was on the dyno so I can't really tell you how good mine is! I have got an Innovate digital gauge/sensor coming so I can do my own tuning, aswell as one of those colour tune thingamajigs.
Where's your printout warren?!

This was with the 12 port head, 2" SU's, Armours manifold, 256° cam & 10.8:1 cr. This setup ran 12.7@105 on the 1/4. I'll have to look for the print out for the current combo.

Very interesting Warren, looks almost identical.

Obviously one dyno will ready different to another, but the shape of the curves are pretty damn close if you scale them together.

Jonesy I imaging with the well sorted stall converter yours will be damn fast, remember mine and Warrens are stick shifts.

You're right Adam. I hope the converter is enough for n/a & spot on for the gas.
BTW is yours 9 or 12 port? Are there any pics floating around of it?

It now runs 12.51@108 with a different cam, 12.5:1 cr, 9 port head & still a stick car.

That - is - awesome! Great fabrication work bud, very impressive. It makes the project all that more worthwhile when you put that sort of work into it, well done son!

i think this should go high 10s on nitrous pretty easily. my 11.5.1 hydraulic 248* cam 9 port 1 3/4 su 202 made 134 kw through a trimatic and 3500 converter and ran 13.5 @ 101. then on a realistic 75 hp of nitrous ran 11.5 118.
