Got to remember here it's an EH sedan & not an lj 2 door though so it's carrying a bit more weight. Realistically, it runs what it runs. Numbers tend to disappoint me when I don't get em, so ill expect the worst & anything better is a bonus!
Took the old girl for a spin the other night... really strong at the top end. It's pretty descent power until 5k, then it pulls harder (like you've flicked a switch) all the way to 7ish. WAY better than the previous combo felt even with the gas on.

Out of curiosity, have you ever had the tank on a weigh bridge?

I think there about 13-1400kg without a driver, but would like a confirmation?

Cheers.

So were talking a mere 50-80kg more than a LC/LJ?

About the same less than a UC?

Interesting, everyone calls them whales but thats not massive...

Cheers.

Lads down at the pub :P

Depending on what yours weights now, i recon most of the quicker LC/LJ torries would be in the same kinda weight bracket.

i know mine (though it went far from quick) would have been before i pulled it apart again once you factor in the tractor diff and all the other little bibbs and bobbs you throw on, kilo here kilo there 100 grams over in that corner etc.

Cheers.

My LJ weighs in at 1120kg, with 8 litres of juice. So your EH isn't that heavy.

2 cents noted Kev, they're some good power runs.

Out of interest, any ideas of what your EH weighs??

Something else to remember is torque on the bottle is way different than all motor torque.

Hey y'all, just a quick update.
I've been clocking up some kays in the old girl & she's going pretty well... but FARK ME what does it take to seal head gaskets!!! Even with this mls gasket I've still got a tiny bit of horsepower juice (compression) getting into the cooling system, making the thing boil it's arse off at the most inconvenient time.
Anyways this all became a little more obvious after a night of nitrous tuning...
Was going to try & retention the head when I get a sec but failing that keep an eye out in the "parts for sale" section.
On a different note i thought I'd give E85 a run the other night! Purely for shits & giggles I filled the tank at the servo, then stopped every 3 minutes thereafter to wind out the jet adjuster to give it more fuel. Thank god for su's! So on premium the jets sat down around 1.5mm, on E85 they're at about 7mm. WAY more fuel. I think I've got it nearly good enough, maybe... It goes ok anyway, a little hard to tell without numbers to back it up.
Got some street drags happening here on the 26th so I'm trying to sort out my bugs before then.
Cheers

I'd be finding some richer needles, remember that E85 needs about 1.5 times more fuel than petrol.

Yeah that's for sure warren, aparently the air/fuel ratio for E85 is around 9:1 so it's gonna need a heap more.
No sealant on the mls gasket, it has a micro layer of rubber that does the sealing. I went through all the different sealants when I was running the copper gaskets... got sick of that hence the reason for changing to mls.

My LJ is 1202 with me in it, so less 85kg is the cars weight.

Stoichiometric ratio for E85 is 9.8.
