Back in the day the white writing on the tyres was the go, the in thing,
What happened? They got rid of white writing and have replaced them with a small red wall if anything. We are not all trendy retro inclined, some of us just want our old school tuff back.
I used to luv the yoko's A pattern on the back and the Bridgestone eagers on the front.
I think most of these makes of 13" tyres aren't made anymore , including the BF's, is this true or am I just older than I feel and there just not the go anymore.
I would have them on tomorrow if I could find some newies. I had a mate say to me a while ago the is 2 here and 2 there for sale but why would you buy old dry tyres.
Does anyone know of any new 13" tyres with small white writing on the market?

In the seventies you could buy a stick similar to crayon , to do the white over on the letters .

Me thinks you can still get'em Bruce, might even have one in the shed
I think gold was also used on the raised lettering and I like the look of the white lettering on the tyres of cars from the 60's & 70's

Supercheap etc sell a specialised white paint pen for tyre lettering. I've found it's so specialised it flakes off in a month. Nobody want's to advertise the fact you've got "KENDAL" or "CHENG SHONK" tyres. Some size's you can only seem to get in the cheapo brands now.

need some centre caps now.
Someone said the local caps won't fit the imported centres ?? need to confirm or deny that.
And back on topic, anyone chasing white letter tyres , you can feel confident in buying from Jeff, if you can't buy local. I highly recommend him.

yes it does.
It would make the base for a great streeter, but he's not interested. Wants a Q.

p.s. ..It was a long time ago, but I recall being at a very early Group N event at Lakeside in the 80s?....and the event was sponsored by Falken ( I think) , but most guys were using Yokys on the cars....there was a stencil and a can of white spray paint available, to ensure the sponsor was kept happy by seeing his name on the tyres.
Not sure how it would look on a road car, i.e. close up look

I must have bucked the trend! In the 80's, 90's and today, white lettering went on the inside!
