Ah no worries. The insulation that was used on mine, was layed down prior to the roof sheets going down.

You need a whirly bird on the roof if it was me to let hot air escape

The Roof Ventilator dosnt require any breeze to allow hot air to be extracted.

I also fitted one of these to my shed roof along with insulation. You can actually go in there in summer time, not to do any work, but you can at least go in.

No whirly

Last thing I want is it squeaking itself and the neighbours to insanity in 2 years

No insulation... rats live in it.

Theres 2 big doors I can open for ventilation and I'll be getting at least 1 big fan

And I have a fridge to go in it once I can afford to put power on

I thought I could see it yesterday morning as I was backing out but not sure if it was yours or the one next door.

I'll have a proper look on the weekend.

There's a lot of buildings and trees in the way.

That is certainly a nice big shed Neil, very jeleous, I wish I had gotten a bigger shed now.

Congratulations to everyone that helped Neil with the demolition and clean up, it's good to see mates helping each other out and achieving great results in a short time especially just before christmas.

Can't wait to see the shed finished and ready for use.

Neil....my advice would be not to use whirly birds as in my last shed I had one directly above my car and believe it or not it dropped dust and crap all over my car as for insulation I have had two sheds built in the past and the insulation goes down prior to the roof sheets and mines only about 1/2 inch thick ....no rats in it I hope

all the best for the shed warming party ....looks great ....but you will soon see they are never big enough ...we all just have to much junk ......lol

Only just checked this out. Nice job guys.
As said above, good to see forum members helping others out.
Not just competing for thread & post counts.
After 10 years ive recently lined and insulated my shed allround with 4.1batts and 12mm mdf. Painted seald etc. On a 40dg day my shed was stinking hot well above 40 in the shed.
Past 2 days have been 39/38dg shed temp is now 16dg better than in my house. Also have a wirly bird. Yes they can drop bits if your in a leafy dusty area. I have a flap door to shut it off in the winter and looking at a filter to stop the crap dropping.

Good Information Jason,

I have a Mezzanine floor which helps keep the temperature down even more under it.

I also enclosed my mezzanine floor now the dust level is so much less.
The floor holds so much dust and crap unless u clean up there all the time.
And got bord with the airbrush there to.

Yep lots of Pennys

1 roller door is enough

Then theres a 3.2m wide sliding door beside it

So far it breaks down abit like this

Shed $12379

Installer $3900

Concrete cutter hire $238

Water Authority plan approval $34.40

Landgate cert of title $24

Council plans and approval $190.50

Concrete $1000 approx

Tree removal contribution $1000

Help from your mates $ Priceless :)

Theres plenty of hidden cost in there too.... I didn't keep reciepts for everything

I still need to get electrical done too

So working on my $20k budget I think I've pretty much nailed it or come very close

I'd saved $10k over the last couple of years and had to borrow the rest

Seriously though... life will now improve as my constant worries about the state of my cars and tools in the shed are now over

Time to get to building some of the toys in the new year

So the moral to the stories is that to build a awesome shed like you have now Datto

Is to have great friends and a pocket full of pennys
