Gday, can anyone tell me the production number of lx hatchbacks made in 1979..? Unique cars and some other sites have some sketchy info on numbers made but all seem to quote the same on numbers made in 1976-1977-1978 but list no numbers for 1979..?

What about GM P & A LX race shells, were any of those built in 1979, & would they count ?

Like the road cars LX's, none were built after 78.

Feb 78 was a dark time I have to say. Almost as bad news as Holden shutting down ! Lol

There where even a few LX hatchbacks with a 1975 build plate as well. As we know 1975 was LH and the ones I have seen had the floor dip switch something not meant to be in an LX.

I think UC Torana went to very early 1980, so there should be some 1979 UC Torana Hatchbacks you would think

What should the LX have?
Indicator stalk change was on the UC, where else did they go?

Okee Dokee, I also heard of the LX Hatchbacks being built late 1975, so does anyone know what was the earliest build.
This I would believe as the prototypes had to be of course some time? earlier
I had a slight disagreement with a fella on Christmas day about this and I mentioned about the late 75 Hatch build but he being the Eggspurt said that he could back his point by providing a print out from GMH.
No doubt I will pursue this and as he will become my son's brother-in-law, I hope to get more info that he CLAIMS to have.
I still think he is talking out his anal passage

The two I have seen where both V8 SS Hatch's 12/75 with round lights and dip on the floor not on the stalk like later LX. It was reported here (pics of plates not mine, they are from one of the threads below) that some had square lights???
But the two I seen where round. LX Hatch where meant to start March 76 according to Holden and the manuals and parts books but the production start obviously was before Christmas 1975 but none of these had the new LX dip switch and housing. Also no intrusion bars in the doors and the nose cone had the LH indicator position.
