Not sure where to put this so went for first category visibility.
Are there differences in the outer skin ( top side ) appearance of the bonnets from HQ to WB or are they all the same? I need one for the HQ ute.
Thanks in advance.

HJ to HZ Tonners had the HQ bonnet.

WB had HJ - HZ sed/ute/van/wag/prem/statesman bonnet.

Answer Yes ....but as the above post
if you have a HQ front apron panel single or twin ...you would need a HQ bonnet
but you can put the later panels on a HQ

It has a single headlight HQ front on it. Do the HJ to WB bonnets fit the same from a panel gap point of view? I will be cutting a large hole out of the top of it anyway.

It will fit in the hole but the swage lines at the cowl edge won't line up, they are different width apart

You can't use the later bonnet unless you change the whole front and the swage lines. If you don't change those lines on the plenum then the bonnet doesn't sit down properly. It's not difficult (for a good panelbeater) but probably not worth it unless you have a complete HJ / WB walk off front laying around.

Good HQ panels can be hard to find but fibreglass HQ bonnets are available. You might be able to get Taiwanese ones too (steel).

Excellent. I suspected as much. The search continues...
